Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that the primary educational sectors mostly put themselves in a great deal of effort to establish formal learning systems. Although, some might consider it very beneficial but I believe integration of games and studies is quite indispensable not just because of the proper bain developement of juveniles but also because of interpersonal skills, they develope via games.

First of all, optimized brain developement can be the major benefit of aforementioned integration as pupils learn a lot from games. For instance, if children involve in games such as ludo or chess in which numbers are involved along with studying math, they would better understand basic mathematic's operations. Moreover, outdoor games such as football, cricket make them active and they can better focus on their studies, wothout getting bored.

Secondly, these games help pupils learn interpersonal skills, which will help them in future. For example, a primary school student, who take part in team games can learn some integral skills such as teamwork, leadership skills and sport-man spirit because in these games they work in groups, which will help him groom his personality.

Undoubtedly, it is true that formal education at this level is also instrumental as it teaches professionalism and prepare students to handle rigrous courses in higher education by preparing them mentally but the above mentioned skills are also integral and games should be the part of primary school systems, provided that students' education is not affected.

To conclude, I believe, In primary education level, schools should focus on integration of both formal education as well as indoor and outdoor games beacuse the benefit, this system brings in terms of brain developement and learning intrpersonal skill are more than enough to make it essential for the system.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the extent of agreement regarding formal learning and the importance of play. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention that games help with 'interpersonal skills' and 'brain development', the explanation could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance. To improve, ensure that your supporting examples are more detailed and directly linked to the specific benefits of play in a primary school context, rather than just listing general advantages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'Secondly' to link your points. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with punctuation, such as the comma splice in the introduction ('Although, some might consider...'). To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that your sentence-level punctuation does not disrupt the flow of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'indispensable', 'instrumental', and 'rigorous'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'bain' (brain), 'developement' (development), 'wothout' (without), and 'sport-man' (sportsmanship). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the spelling inaccuracies prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch these common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise collocations to enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use complex sentences, there are persistent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('a primary school student, who take part' should be 'takes part') and incorrect pluralization ('mathematic's operations'). Additionally, there are minor errors in article usage and sentence structure. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly to maintain grammatical accuracy.
