Student answer (Band 5.0)

In primary school focus on formal learning more important so that few individuals argue that focus too much on formal learning. With this statement i dis agreed because with formal learning children playing also important. Behind this statement their are so meny reasons will discuss in fourth coming paragraphs with valid examples.

The fundamental reason for my inclination is that, when the children learning with plying games they learn more faster rather than focusing on only study. Some time pupils were boring when teachers continuously teaching. As a result, studen getting distracting due to boring so that teachers should be teaching with plying games ultimately studen feel fresh, energetic and learning quikely.

Second and most important reason that, when teachers focusing on only formal learning students get knowledge about only books, pupils need to be involved in physical activities such as, playing out door games as well as in door games to stey physically fit and become a quick learner. Moreover, in primary school once in a year arrenge sport day, student should be participant. School staff arrenge for winning prize for student for the appreciate.

On the other hand, formal learning plays significant role to get good education for the build ceriar. When the student focus on their primary schools they build their basic knowledge. For example, students get focus on important subject knowledge such as mathematic, science,English they build their stronger schools ceriar in future they pass out easily in graduation.

To conclude, I strongly disagree with only focusing on casual learning because student get good knowledge but in terms of physical activities they not capable so that with learning games are most important for stey physical fit and quick learner.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding whether primary schools focus too much on formal learning and the importance of play alongside learning. The writer takes a clear position disagreeing with excessive formal learning and argues that play is vital for physical fitness and learning speed. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, especially in the body paragraphs where points about playing games to avoid boredom are restated multiple times. Furthermore, the reasoning tends to over-generalise, and some explanations are underdeveloped. The conclusion also introduces minor confusion by referring to "casual learning." Consequently, the response satisfies the basic requirements of the task but displays characteristics consistent with a Band 5.5 to Band 6.0 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting a standard essay structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the paragraphing and transitions are often awkward and mechanical. For instance, the transition "Second and most important reason that..." is grammatically flawed and abrupt. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or inaccurate, such as "so that teachers should be teaching with plying games ultimately studen feel fresh..." which leads to run-on sentences and unclear referencing. There is a discernible attempt at logical progression regarding the benefits of play versus formal studies, but the overall arrangement suffers from frequent mechanical errors in cohesion and referencing, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like "learning," "games," "student," and "formal learning." There are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as "dis agreed," "plying games," "stey physically fit," "arrenge sport day," and "build ceriar." Spelling errors are common ("quikely," "mathematic," "ceriar" instead of career). While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the writer's general message, the frequent errors in spelling and word formation cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex structures that result in severe grammatical errors, missing verbs, and fragments, such as "In primary school focus on formal learning more important so that few individuals argue that focus too much on formal learning." Punctuation and subject-verb agreement are frequently faulty, leading to sentences that impede communication. For example, "when the children learning with plying games they learn more faster rather than focusing on only study" contains multiple structural inaccuracies. Because the frequency of errors is high and error-free sentences are rare, the grammar aligns with Band 4.5 to 5.0.
