Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often believed that elementary schools concentrate much more about formal learning. In my opinion, I agree that it helps develop basics of education. However, I also believe about physical schooling that should be taught to children.
Structured learning basically is about the subjects that most of the institutions make their students learn or understand. If I illustrates about the subjects that are mainly focused in my country are Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat, Mathematics and English as a compulsory requirement and an indivisual can not take admission if they dont have these subjects. Apart from these, medical, computer science and commerce are optionals. The education in my nation ignores different types of intelligence, such as sports intelligence, and concentrate only on subject learning which has a major drawback that the learners become physically weak. However, formal education is vital for our careers and skills which helps in our daily lifes and future. It gives opportunities to learn about medicine, business and engineering.
On the other hand, co-curricular activities such as sports, plays a crucial role in a learners life as it gives a positve impact on ones physical as well as mental health. Physical games can be exemplified as Tennis, Badminton, Football, Cricket and much more. These help students to have physical fitness and help them get rid of stress or any other mental illness as it distracts them. This makes a student's school life more colorful and helps them concentrate and balance their studies.
In conclusion, I would like to illustrates the importance of balancing the subject and physical learning, that if education systems adopt these structures, than there will be a majority of the skillful indivisuals being made from the educational boards.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the two-part prompt. The writer agrees that primary schools focus on formal learning and discusses the importance of play and physical education. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are a bit repetitive, and the development of the arguments is occasionally limited by superficial examples and phrasing, such as listing subjects specific to Pakistan without fully linking them back to the core question of whether primary schools focus 'too much' on formal learning. Despite these minor limitations, the overall demands of the task are adequately met, corresponding well to the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, such as formal education in the second paragraph and co-curricular activities in the third. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'If I illustrates about' and 'However, I also believe about' are awkward and disrupt the flow. Pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear, and cohesive devices are somewhat repetitive. This positions the response firmly at Band 6, where progression is generally apparent but cohesion features noticeable flaws.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'co-curricular activities', 'physical fitness', and 'skillful individuals'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'concentrate much more about' instead of 'on', 'physical schooling', and 'If I illustrates'. Spelling and morphological errors, such as 'indivisual' and 'lifes', also occur. While communication is not impeded, these frequent inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching the higher bands, making Band 5.0 or 6.0 appropriate. Given the successful communication of ideas despite errors, Band 6 is awarded.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples include 'play as well as learn' (which is fine, but structurally complex attempts often falter), 'an indivisual can not take admission if they dont have', 'sports, plays a crucial role', and 'that if education systems adopt these structures, than there will be'. Punctuation is also sometimes neglected, and conditional structures are handled clumsily. These errors cause occasional minor difficulties for the reader, fitting the profile of Band 5.0.
