Student answer (Band 5.0)

Primary schools play crucial role in every student development .Some individuals think that schools should only focus on academics insted of physical learning . I partly agree with this statement because it has both merits and demarits .I discuss both before my opinoin.

To commence with, there are several agree points associated with it. The most prominent point is, archive goals. To explain with, most of schools just focus on studies because they think adademics are very important rather than other things. Moreover, students feel more pressure and stress . To illustrate, they can archive their gols in easy ways in compititive exams or monthly test with only focus on formal subjects and increase in productivity or creativity of mind with read diffrent types of books

On the other hand, there are numerous points are related with activities . The first and foremost point is, physicaly strong. when schools focus on both studies or activities . students focus on both equaly . In addition, childrens become physicaly strong and also play better in games or learn teamwork. For example, playing games in schools is important for students development or learn discpline and learn how to cooperate with others .

In my opinion, for student development both games or studies play equaly role .Both are important for children and they learn many things from both like discpline or teamwork.

In conclusion, after taking all the aspects in my concendration I would like to emphsize that, it has both agree or disagree points .agree points are no pressure or scores good marks in studies without any disturbance. disagree points are learn cummunication skill, teamwork ,discpline and become physicaly strong.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether primary schools focus too much on formal learning, and how important it is for children to play as well as learn. The candidate takes a clear position, stating that they partly agree, and attempts to discuss both merits and drawbacks. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and repetitive. For example, the arguments regarding academic focus and physical activities lack specific, well-supported elaboration, often relying on vague assertions like 'archive goals' or 'students become physicaly strong'. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the lack of fully developed supporting examples and the somewhat simplistic line of argument place this performance at Band 5.0 according to the task achievement descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, which aids overall structure, but the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and limited cohesive devices. While transitional markers like 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are attempted, their usage is often mechanical and sometimes grammatically flawed, such as 'there are several agree points associated with it'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak due to disjointed sentences and repetitive referencing. For instance, the conclusion simply restates previous points without effectively synthesising them. These issues align closely with the Band 5 descriptor for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and restricted in range, which is characteristic of a Band 5 score. The candidate frequently reuses terms such as 'focus', 'studies', 'learning', and 'development' without variation. Furthermore, there are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the essay, including 'insted', 'demarits', 'opinoin', 'archive' (used instead of 'achieve'), 'compititive', 'physicaly', 'childrens', and 'cummunication'. These noticeable errors and limited lexical flexibility mean the range is minimally adequate for the task, preventing the writer from achieving a higher band in this category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences predominate, and attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty or ungrammatical, such as 'Primary schools play crucial role in every student development' (missing articles and incorrect prepositional agreement) and 'When schools focus on both studies or activities . students focus on both equaly' (improper punctuation and fragment errors). Frequent errors in punctuation, missing articles, and subject-verb agreement cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. Because the control of grammar is weak and complex sentences are prone to severe errors, this response fits comfortably within the Band 4.5 to 5.0 range, warranting a 5.0.
