Student answer (Band 5.0)
Unspecified amount of people believe that primary schools focus to advance learning at high rate. Overall, I agree with this statement and discuss both views either children have to play in lower level of school and their learning.
People who have problem with formal learning are right in a particular way that children should spend there most of time in playing rather than learning because while playing children learns and show activeness to parents, whereas playing has benefits to health and mentally thay are not in a stress of burden which helps children to grow in efficient way.
Moreover, many schools have different methods of teaching children in a positive enviornment although people who have no problem with new techniques of learning using digital way may effect more than normal learning because while playing with toys and other equipment are less effective than advance method through which they learn quickly and adopt the new pattern in schools. In addition, the schools where learning by digital way or advance method show more reliability that children grow more confident and using various devices such as tablets and LCDs are helping children to move on next step with accurate level.
In conclusion, learning while playing is a good approach and more effective way to promote easy learning in modern culture where mobile phones and other electronical devices are used at high rate which also become our need. So, in my opinion formal learning of children is very essential in technology period and schools have much acceptence in learning through various different acitivity which also the sign that it has positive impact over children.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the two-part prompt by stating an overall position and discussing both formal learning and play in primary schools. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and the arguments are somewhat confusingly expressed. For instance, the student states they agree that schools focus too much on formal learning, yet later seems to advocate for digital learning techniques and advanced methods over playing with toys. Phrases like 'discuss both views either children have to play in lower level of school' show a lack of clear position progression. While the response meets the minimum length requirement, the content remains quite general and repetitive, lacking fully elaborated examples. Therefore, it fits the band 5 descriptors for addressing the task partially with limited ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence structures. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion' are present, but their usage is often mechanical or inaccurate, as seen in the phrase 'although people who have no problem with new techniques... may effect more than normal learning'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the central topics of the body paragraphs bleed into one another, making it difficult to follow the progression of thought. Referencing is also unclear at times, such as the pronoun 'they' referring ambiguously to different nouns. This level of organisation aligns with band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation. Examples include 'focus to advance learning at high rate', 'spend there most of time', and 'electronical devices'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'enviornment' (misspelled as enviornment), 'reliability', and 'acitivity', but these attempts are marred by inaccurate spelling and inappropriate usage that occasionally impedes communication. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, but lexical limitations restrict precision, placing the response firmly at band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response exhibits a very limited range of structures, with most complex sentences breaking down due to faulty grammar and punctuation. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('children learns', 'thay are not in a stress'), preposition errors ('focus to advance', 'in playing'), and run-on sentences containing multiple clauses connected loosely by conjunctions like 'whereas' and 'although'. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning, which matches the characteristics of band 4.
