Student answer (Band 5.0)
some individuals have problem with the children institutions as they give too much importance to formal learning. i majourly agree with this viewpoint. i have described my points below with examples.
personally I believe that it is really important for every pupils to get the chance to refresh their mind by playing games or by taking part into other extra curicculam activies. for instance playing games. because of these tasks they can stay fit while releaving their stress from studies and enjoy some of their time. moreover, if children don't get some free time from studies they might find them self less concentrated in studies and tired of learning too much. as a result many boys and girls find it difficult to stay active in the class and may endup being being stressed and lonely. therefore schools needs to understand that playing is as important as studies for children.
Furthermore , many pupils needs break of couple of minutes in which they can do their preferred activity after studying for some hours. as a result they can stay focus better and evantually help understanding the topics. morely with playing or other activities involves lots of effort physically and mentaly as well. this helps child making better cordination between body and mind.
on the other hand, studies are also as important for youngsters to learn and getting knowledge of different subjects. this helps child grow mentally and coap with difficult situations.
in conclusion , i believe that at some instance study is important for children but alone knowledge is not enough for pupills to live their life peacefully. because where studies helps them to get a good life in future physical activities make them m

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, expressing clear agreement that primary schools focus too much on formal learning and discussing the importance of play alongside study. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While the writer attempts to explain the benefits of play, such as stress relief and physical-mental coordination, the arguments remain underdeveloped. For instance, the point regarding physical and mental effort is stated simply as 'helps child making better cordination'. Furthermore, the conclusion trails off abruptly ('physical activities make them m...'), leaving the final thought incomplete. The writer maintains a relevant position throughout, but the depth of support places this response in Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with paragraph breaks, but progression lacks clarity in places. Cohesive devices are frequently basic, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as 'morely' and 'evantually'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion is cut off prematurely, disrupting the flow of the text. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, the use of 'these tasks' and 'them self' creates minor confusion about what is being referenced. While there is a logical attempt to contrast study with play in the later paragraphs, the mechanical use of cohesive ties and occasional awkward transitions align this response with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'studies', 'learning', 'important', and 'playing'. There are notable spelling errors throughout the text, including 'majourly', 'curicculam', 'activies', 'releaving', 'endup', and 'coap'. Attempts at less common vocabulary result in awkward collocations or incorrect word forms, such as 'extra curicculam activies' and 'stay focus'. The lexical range is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, which fits the Band 5.0 criteria.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic compound forms. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, characterised by persistent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'every pupils', 'many pupils needs', and 'helps child making'. Punctuation and capitalization are weak, with sentences starting with lowercase letters (e.g., 'some individuals', 'on the other hand', 'in conclusion') and missing terminal punctuation in the final incomplete sentence. Due to frequent grammatical errors and a lack of control over complex structures, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
