Student answer (Band 5.5)

The casual debate about whether the primary scholls set their teaching strategies to be oriented to formal learning is one the most topics you hear about especialy from parents. while the foundations and the formal teaching basics played a generational role in students capacity building arround some many decades , its addmitted that these kind of methodologies impact the discpline of the childerns and affected their behaviour in a way that the students especialy the young ones automaticly feels serious during classes.

The truth is that the learning strategies from primary schools should adapt on many factors, the new generations personna plays a key role, in a way the new generation called "generation Z" seems to be have more energy and creativity than the previous ones. Added to that escaping the ordinary forms of learning to new trendy stratgies such as focusing on group work and shared projects can boost the collaboration accros the students and assist them to be more integrated in the class. So from my own point of view i belive that its totally true that primary schools focus on formal learning and its time to update the learning processes from outdated and formal ones to new strategies full of creativity and involvement for the childrens.

As a solution for seeting new learning ways and as i mentionned before about the changements about the new generation personna, i see that mixing both physical and theorical activities is the key update that need to happen. By applying this, the children will feel more excited about going to school because to their natural bound to the funny activities. As a consequence for that, the scholl will become their confort zone and even that learning lessons that requires attention will be easier for them by using role plays for exemple.

As a conclusion, nowadays the priority is to finetune the learning plan in order to be aligned with the children perception. So simply the for the new generation "playing" means "learning".

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether primary schools focus too much on formal learning, and the importance of play alongside learning. A clear position is presented throughout the essay, stating that while formal structures have a historical role, modern education must integrate play and creative strategies for Generation Z. The ideas are extended and supported with relevant reasoning, such as discussing how group work and role-play enhance student engagement. However, the development of some arguments remains somewhat general, and there is a tendency to over-generalize regarding generational characteristics. Nevertheless, all parts of the prompt are adequately covered, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to divide distinct points, such as generational shifts and proposed solutions. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently faulty or mechanical, with awkward transitional phrases like 'The truth is that' and 'As a solution for seeting new learning ways'. Referencing is not always clear, and punctuation errors occasionally disrupt the flow of ideas. These cohesive shortcomings place the response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, where cohesion can be somewhat mechanical or faulty.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'methodologies', 'collaboration', and 'finetune'. However, there are numerous spelling errors ('scholls', 'especialy', 'arround', 'discpline', 'childerns', 'personna', 'accros', 'theorical', 'confort', 'for' instead of 'form') and inappropriate word choices ('funny activities' instead of 'fun activities', 'natural bound' instead of 'natural bond'). These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, although communication is generally maintained. The frequency of spelling and lexical inaccuracies restricts the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the new generation called generation Z seems to be have more energy'), preposition misuse ('adapt on many factors'), and awkward phrasing ('the key update that need to happen'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with lowercase capitalization at the beginning of sentences and improper comma splices. While meaning is usually decipherable, the density of grammatical errors means that error-free sentences are not in the majority, aligning best with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
