Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is widely argued that many primary schools emphasizes on the delievery of formal education as compared to learning informally. In my view, i agree with this statement and argue the importance of learning by playing in early years of education.
Many primary schools centered around formal education, with the main focus on developing formal curriculam and delievering of theorotical knowlege. It is indeed necessary to form the foundation of learnin but leaning more towards formal education may seem to slow down students creativity. Many students are unable to explore their interests in later years of education. It is mainly due to spending time on exploring knowlege rather than interpretation of knowledge. These student often have difficulty in assessing their capabilities, consequently may end up choosng inappropriate fields.
If schools prepare students by learning through play, it will greatly benefit children in many ways. Firstly, it is the best way to help them teach lessons becaues they understand well by actually doing things rather than just verbally. Secondly, when students are exposed to learn in a fun way, they will show more interest in exploring knowlege.Studies show that student who demonstrate pactically are better t developing concept. Thus it prepare the student for their future. Additional learn by play is also considered toboth physical and mental health. As it reduce stress in young children. I Completely agree with the cruicial role of learning especially in children tend to learn faster than books. This help them becoming confident individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, agreeing that primary schools focus too much on formal learning and discussing the importance of play in the classroom. However, the development of ideas is hampered by abrupt phrasing and incomplete sentences towards the end of the text. For instance, the conclusion trails off mid-sentence ('To sum up, learning by play vital role in the development of children as compared to for'), and there is an isolated fragment at the very end. Despite these structural disruptions, the writer clearly takes a position and presents relevant arguments concerning creativity and stress reduction. This performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization, attempting a standard introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is hindered by poor paragraphing, abrupt trailing sentences, and hanging fragments at the end of the response. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or are missing, as seen with basic transitions like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', but logical links between sentences frequently break down due to grammatical slips. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun usage in 'This help them becoming confident individuals.' Paragraphing conventions are breached by leaving stray, isolated sentences at the bottom rather than integrating them into a cohesive structure. Consequently, the organization earns a Band 5 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common terms such as 'theorotical knowlege', 'curriculam', and 'interpretation', but these are undermined by frequent spelling errors and awkward word choices. For example, words like 'emphasizes', 'delievery', 'learnin', 'cruicial', and 'toboth' demonstrate consistent spelling and morphological inaccuracies. Collocations are also weak, such as 'show more interest in exploring knowlege' and 'better t developing concept'. While the meaning can generally be inferred, noticeable errors in word formation and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor profile well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is weak, and frequent grammatical errors impede smooth reading. Subject-verb agreement and prepositional issues are common, as seen in 'many primary schools emphasizes', 'student who demonstrate pactically are better t developing concept', and 'Additional learn by play is also considered toboth physical and mental health.' Furthermore, capitalization and punctuation errors occur frequently ('In my view, i agree'), and the presence of incomplete sentences at the conclusion indicates a lack of control over sentence boundaries. The frequency of these errors places the response firmly at Band 5.
