Student answer (Band 5.5)

Early education plays a vital role in children learning. It is often believe that, some people claim that the primary schools should attention on the children other formal activities like playing sports and making little competitions between the children during the calssroom. I completely agree with this opnion because it has many positive results .

To begin with, today we are living in modern world. Children are more clever and intelligent as compared to the past. I think the primary schools should need to focus on the other entertaining activities in children during the class because it provides them more confidence and courage. For instance, a child who is tired about his daily study routiene and he try his best to perform well in exams but did not achieve his goal. At that time if he took part in the formal activities of his class and perform well during clasroom so his confidence level will be boost automatoically and he also try his best to achieve his target in study.

On the other hand, the primary school should need to create a environment in the classroom which are related to the sports field. For instance, by giving the students little task about different sports like hockey, cricket and tenis ball. When they play in the class in front of their teacher they learn a lot of positive things like patience, courage and determination. These things are necessary for children nowadays because mostly children spend their time on mobile phones while watching different funny videos. So they have no knowledge about the patience and bravery. When they learn these things in primary schools calssroom they become mature and decent.

To sum up, i think the government should need to introduce a new rules which are related to primary school education and ask the teachers to must teach their children about the sports in their classrooms. This will be very helpfull for the children in their future .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The candidate addresses both parts of the prompt, agreeing with the view that primary schools focus too much on formal learning and discussing the importance of play alongside learning. A clear position is maintained throughout the response, supported by examples such as sports activities like hockey and cricket. However, some ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper elaboration, characteristic of a Band 6.0 performance. For instance, the explanation of how a child feels tired of routine and gains confidence through play is slightly under-developed and colloquial in expression. Nonetheless, all parts of the prompt are given attention, ensuring a solid fulfillment of the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion, demonstrating a coherent overall arrangement. Cohesive devices are used to link ideas, such as "To begin with," "On the other hand," and "To sum up." However, referencing and transitions are sometimes mechanical or awkward, such as "children are more clever and intelligent as compared to the past" followed abruptly by the next point. Paragraphing is generally used sufficiently, but internal cohesion within paragraphs occasionally falters due to grammatical slips and repetitive sentence openings, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items such as "determination," "courage," and "patience." However, there are numerous word choice errors, spelling mistakes, and collocation issues throughout the text. Examples include "calssroom," "opnion," "routiene," "tenis," and the phrase "should attention on" instead of "should focus on." Furthermore, expressions like "funny videos" instead of "entertainment videos" or "engaging media" demonstrate a limited control of precise lexical items, which prevents the score from rising above Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as "primary schools should need to focus," "a environment," and "the government should need to introduce a new rules." Sentences like "children spend their time on mobile phones while watching different funny videos" show some structural variety, but persistent foundational errors cause difficulty for the reader at times and prevent the control expected at Band 6.0.
