Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are many individuals who believe that primary institutions do attention more on formal learning that any other sites. I strongly disagree with this view due to so many reasons. In addition, it is very crucial for minors not only does learn the basics in classroom but make also them a descent and flexible human.

To begin with, there are an ongoing debate among whether primary schools should teach offspring about basic manner or they may just focus on academic learning. Although academic study are significant for school children; it is also vital to acknowledge about formal behaviour such as, respect elder people and teacher, talk respectfully with others, love youngers and stay patience in any difficulities. For instance, in Britain, from a tiny age they start to teach their youngstars how to behave with others and others general skills. As a result, other countries admire the rules and regulations of Great britain.

On the other hand, primary school is second tutor of a infant. By that time youth do begin acquisition of knowledge. Despite learning from their family about general manners, school teach them practically. For example, in Bangladesh every primary students accomplish flexibility, time-management, politeness and others etiquette from primary schools. As a consequences, it has impacts positively in pupils life and make them a strong generations.

To sum up, in spite of all this opportunities still some guardians argue that schools value more on education than courtesy. From my point of view, school maintain both sides and they take care of their students significantly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by stating a clear position on formal learning and discussing the importance of play and broader social skills in primary school. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed throughout. For instance, when the writer mentions that primary school acts as a second tutor and gives examples from Britain and Bangladesh regarding rules and manners, these points are presented rather superficially without deep exploration or robust support. The position is sometimes expressed with sweeping statements, such as 'I strongly disagree with this view due to so many reasons', which contributes to a general lack of thorough elaboration. To move to a higher level, the ideas need to be extended with more detailed explanations, specific consequences, and more fully realised examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates some organisation with a clear paragraph structure, using introductory, body, and concluding sections. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow between sentences can feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate, repetitive, or mechanically applied, such as the frequent transitions like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in expressions like 'By that time youth do begin acquisition of knowledge' where pronoun and time references are muddled. To improve, the writer should ensure that ideas transition smoothly from one to the next with more natural and varied cohesive links, and that paragraph themes build progressively upon each other.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range demonstrated is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic arguments. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'acquisition', 'flexibility', and 'time-management', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. For instance, phrases like 'primary institutions do attention more on formal learning that any other sites' contain awkward lexical choices ('attention' instead of 'focus', 'sites' instead of 'places'). There are also recurring lexical inaccuracies such as 'descent' instead of 'decent', 'youngars' instead of 'youngsters', and 'stay patience' instead of 'stay patient'. To achieve a higher score, the vocabulary needs to be more precise, natural, and accurately controlled, with fewer inappropriate collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader, including issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples of these errors include 'not only does learn the basics... but make also them a descent', 'there are an ongoing debate among whether', and 'academic study are significant'. Articles and plurals are also mishandled, as seen in 'from a tiny age' and 'every primary students accomplish'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries occasionally obscure meaning. To progress, the writer must expand their repertoire of complex structures and gain better control over basic grammatical agreements, tense consistency, and sentence construction.
