Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are many people who have shown concern regarding a too much formal learning in schools. They argue that students should have play time in between their classes. I strongly agree with the others and consider introducing play time as a part curicculum of primary schools.
Students in primary schools are mostly in a growing phase. As much as formal learning is important for them being active is also crucial for them. Introducing healthy habits in students from early age will shape a better future. Being active is the main part of healthy life style. School is a place of learning and child mostly spend their time in schools. Introduction of play time will make them active. Students can focus more actively during the lecture post-play time. This will help increase bond between classfellows and teacher interaction with their students will also profoundly increased. Just formal learning bore out students and will make students less interested towards their studies.By playing,it doesnot mean it to be physical. Teachers can read stories to them or have art competition among students or play music to them. It will make students look forward to going to school.
Playing sports in a free time can also prepare them for their future prospects too. their are many careers option in sports too.Fir intance, schools can for football teams of each class and organize a yearly events for them. Student will learn how to compete and if they like playing they can pursue it in future as a career.there are many sports which should be learned from early childhood like fencing, ballet dancing, badminton. table tennis, swimming. Aside from thes physical sport, there are few that need full concentration like chess, spelling bee, singing, acting or debate. These all can be future careers for students and if not will develop a sense of leadership in them which is also a learning.
Overall,Having a play time doesn't restrict it to one aspect. From broader perspective,it opens a wide range of opportunities in future too.Not having a playtime would definitely affect students but having one doesnot cause any damage. Instead, it is for the betterment of child.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that primary pupils should have play time alongside formal learning. You address both the concern about too much formal instruction and the importance of play, giving relevant reasons such as activity, concentration, social interaction and possible future interests. The examples of storytelling, art, sports teams and chess also help show that play need not be limited to physical exercise. This range of relevant support meets the task well. Some claims, however, are broad rather than fully explained—for example, that play will improve concentration or develop leadership. Explain how these outcomes arise, and connect the examples more directly to children’s learning, to make the argument more consistently developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs developing the benefits and forms of play, and a concluding summary. Ideas generally progress from health and classroom engagement to sports and future opportunities. However, the second body paragraph gathers many examples into a long sequence, so the distinction between physical activities and other forms of play is not always easy to follow. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, such as “Aside from thes physical sport,” and the transition from classroom benefits to career prospects could be more explicit. Use clearer topic sentences and group related examples into shorter, focused sections. More precise referencing and transitions would make the progression smoother without relying on repeated “also” and “This will.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “formal learning,” “healthy habits,” “concentration,” “leadership” and “future prospects,” and you attempt to express several different benefits of play. However, noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation errors reduce precision: “curicculum,” “bore out students,” “careers option,” and “organize a yearly events” are examples. Some phrases are also awkward or repetitive, including “play time” and “make students active.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main ideas, but they limit the naturalness and accuracy of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “include play in the curriculum” and “organise an annual event.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more extended sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “Introducing healthy habits in students from early age will shape a better future.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation. For example, “child mostly spend their time” has a singular/plural agreement problem, while “teacher interaction with their students will also profoundly increased” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “By playing, it doesnot mean…” is also difficult to follow grammatically. Several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation. Aim first for accurate, complete sentences, then build complexity with carefully controlled clauses; proofreading for agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries would improve clarity.
