Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, formal lerning increasingly day by day in the primary schools. Some individuals argue that primary schools focus too much on the formal learning. From my perspective, i slightly disagree with this statement. It is very significant for the children to play as well as learn in the primary school classroom.
Nowadays, primary schools focus too much on formal learning. Almost every primary institute rely on the formal learning like weekly base test, daily schedule syllabus and final exams. Students busy on thier academic schedule tests and no time for the games. This incidents causes major draw backs on pupils brains conditions. Schools authorities must arrange separate lecture for the entertainment such as playing, physical trianing and listeing music. These activities help students in decline daily busy study periods. These points indicate that primary school should not focus only on formal but also on physical.
While playing is most significant for the children to perform well in busy exams conditions. Acedamic authorities must arrange play schedule for the children. When the children play as well as learn in institute time, than students perform well in exams due to playing maintain brain refresh all the day. For instance, china is the developing country in the world due to it they know when to play and when to study.
To draw the conclusion, primary institute should not focus only on formal learning, but also rely on physical activities. Acedamic authorities should arrangments for the play in school time periods. Study is incomplete without playing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear general view that children should have opportunities to play as well as study, and you offer relevant points about tests, busy schedules, and the possible benefits of play. However, the response only partially develops the task: your opening says you “slightly disagree,” but the body mainly argues that schools focus too much on formal learning, so your position is not consistently explained. The claim about China is unclear and does not provide convincing support. The response also contains 226 words, below the required 250; this limits the space available to explain both how far you agree and why classroom play matters. Develop each reason with a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally stay on the topic, and transitions such as “While” and “To draw the conclusion” signal movement between points. However, the overall progression is limited: the first body paragraph repeats the idea that schools focus too much on formal learning, while the second introduces play without clearly building on the first. Some links are inaccurate or unclear, particularly “While playing is most significant” and “due to playing maintain brain refresh.” The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “formal learning,” “weekly…test,” “physical training,” and “academic schedule,” so the reader can identify the subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas difficult to understand. For example, “major draw backs on pupils brains conditions” and “playing maintain brain refresh” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “lerning,” “thier,” and “Acedamic” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than adding difficult-sounding expressions; for instance, explain that play can support concentration or reduce stress.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause in “These activities help students…” and a conditional-style point about playing and learning. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. Examples include “Almost every primary institute rely,” “When the children play… than students perform,” and “Schools authorities must arrange.” The sentence beginning “While playing is most significant” is also incomplete as written. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check punctuation.
