Student answer (Band 5.5)

As for as the topic is concerned some people believes that primary schools focus are heavily on traditional learning while other reject this notion and admire the importance of physical activities along with learning. I agree with the statement that if students playing games in the school, it would definitely boost their performance.

There are serval reasons why it is vital for the students to improve ad enhance the capability of understanding the complex subjects during classes. First and for most, is playing the game in the classes can build the interest of students in the formal education because, the physical classes demands the focus and consistency and it would be achieved by doing regularly extra-curricular activities in the class rooms because they would defiantly enjoy this experience. The second reason is when the students are learning the complex terms especially, language learning and mathematics teachers can play different games to understand the students respective topics.

Moreover, the primary schools are mostly follow the Strick timelines and they are more focusing on the grades. They except from the students that they should be consistence in the class attending all the lectures daily and do assignments on time.

Their traditional way of teaching really hurts the students performance, skills to solve the complex problems which directly cause the failure of most students.

In Conclusion, games are the primary part of every schools not only the primary schools so, students can learn skills like courage, consistency, accept the failures and how they will works on it and convert the defeats into the victories, also leaderships skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position in favour of play, saying it can “boost their performance,” and give relevant reasons, including building interest in formal education and practising language or mathematics through games. You also discuss pressure from strict schedules and grades, so the response addresses both formal learning and play. However, the position is not fully clear at the outset: the opening contrasts different views before stating agreement, and the second question—how important play is in the classroom—could be answered more directly. Several claims, such as traditional teaching harming performance and games teaching leadership, are asserted rather than explained with a specific example. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or illustration to make the response more complete and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First and for most,” “The second reason,” “Moreover,” and “In Conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is uneven: the paragraph beginning “Moreover” shifts to strict timelines and grades without clearly connecting this criticism to the earlier case for classroom play. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, and the long final sentence combines several ideas—courage, consistency, accepting failure, and leadership—without clear organisation. Use one central point per paragraph, explain how each point supports your position, and make references between sentences more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “formal education,” “extra-curricular activities,” “complex subjects,” and “leadership skills,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “physical classes demands the focus” does not clearly express the intended idea, while “they except from the students” appears to mean that schools expect something of pupils. Spelling errors such as “serval,” “defiantly,” and “consistence” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your argument clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if students playing games in the school, it would definitely boost their performance.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For instance, “some people believes” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “the primary schools are mostly follow” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “First and for most, is playing the game” is also incomplete in structure. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement and verb forms before adding further detail.
