Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify a reunion with classmates and teachers, explain that it would help everyone cherish old memories, and ask your friend to collect classmates’ contact details. These are relevant points, but the event itself is not clearly described: “a college get together” does not say what people would do or where it would take place. The reason for celebrating is also brief, and the request for help focuses only on contact details, without clarifying whether you need assistance with invitations or other arrangements. The date remains uncertain (“I will confirm you the dates”), which makes the plan less definite. Develop each bullet with specific details so the reader understands the proposed celebration and exactly what you need.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter follows a broadly sensible order: you introduce the reunion, mention inviting people, request help, and give your reason for organising it. However, most of the content is presented as one long paragraph, so the different points are not clearly separated. Several ideas are repeated, particularly the need to gather classmates’ contact details, and the sequence between planning the event and asking for help could be clearer. Use separate paragraphs for the event and its purpose, then the assistance you need. Linking phrases such as “To make this happen” or “I’m asking because” would make the relationships between ideas clearer without repeating the same information.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to a reunion, including “college get together,” “special occasion,” “contact details,” and “old memories,” so the reader can understand the general topic. However, the range is limited and some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “listed down all the things,” “cheerish the old memories,” and “memories we had spent years ago.” Spelling errors, including “arrrange,” “occassion,” and “oraganise,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the message. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “reminisce about our college days” expresses your purpose more precisely and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You communicate the main message using simple sentences and some longer structures, such as “I need your help in inviting all our class mates by getting their contact details.” However, the range of sentence patterns is limited, and errors in sentence boundaries, tense, and grammatical phrasing occur. The opening uses lowercase “i” and several sentences run together without consistent capitalisation or punctuation. “I will confirm you the dates” also has an incorrect grammatical pattern; write “I will confirm the dates with you.” The phrase “memories we had spent years ago” does not form a correct clause. Practise combining ideas accurately and proofread for sentence starts, full stops, and natural verb patterns.
