Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you propose an evening dinner, explain that classmates can attend after work and reconnect through games and memories, and ask Arun to help collect contact details. These are relevant ideas, and the purpose of the letter is clear. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the reason for choosing a dinner is mainly that it fits around work, while the celebration’s format and practical details remain vague. The request for help could be more specific about how Arun might gather the information or what details you need. A little more explanation of the event and a clearer, more complete request would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with a greeting and purpose, moves to the proposed celebration and its benefits, then asks for help and closes. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Moving further” signal a transition. The ideas are generally easy to follow, which gives the response a coherent progression. To make the organisation more polished, use transitions that sound natural in a personal letter and connect the reason for the event more directly to the proposed activities. The sentence beginning “The main purpose I’m writing today” is awkwardly constructed, so the shift into the request feels less smooth. Clearer links and more natural paragraph openings would strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary for a reunion, including “celebration,” “classmates,” “collect,” and “recall,” and the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “monouteous” and “hectic schedule,” though spelling and word choice reduce their effectiveness. Several errors—“leter,” “thogether,” “planed,” “prievous,” and “contect”—are noticeable and make the writing less precise. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “celebration of this great moment” and “held dinner.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for invitations and events; this will help you express your ideas more naturally and flexibly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, for example, “I prefer evening time because everyone is working” and the sentence explaining that a game could help classmates recall shared moments. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. In “10 years has been completed we all left the college,” the clauses are joined without a clear grammatical link, and “I have planed to held dinner” has an incorrect verb pattern. There are also issues with sentence boundaries and capitalisation, as well as the closing phrase “if is it possible.” Practise forming complete clauses, using correct verb forms after “plan,” and checking punctuation. More accurate complex sentences would improve the overall control.
