Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a reunion during Diwali, explain that you have not seen your college friends since graduating, and ask Rahul for contacts, a venue suggestion, and help finding an event organiser. The reason that Diwali is a suitable time is relevant, especially because you will be visiting India then. However, the event itself remains vague: specify whether you envisage a dinner, a party, or another kind of gathering, and give a little more detail about what attendees might do. The request for help is clear but could be prioritised so Rahul knows what to arrange first. Overall, the purpose is clear, though some ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall progression: greeting and purpose, reasons for the reunion, then the help you need and a closing. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and connectors such as “First of all” and “Moreover” help show how your reasons relate. This meets the expected level of organisation, and the reader can follow the main message. To make the flow more polished, avoid relying on explicit transitions alone and connect related details more smoothly. For example, the move from your planned Diwali visit to the anniversary could be expressed as one connected explanation. The final “Anyways” also shifts abruptly from the practical requests to the closing; a more natural transition would make the ending feel better integrated.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main purpose and practical requests, including “celebrate,” “classmates,” “mailing address,” and “suitable location.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts less fluent, such as “intrest,” “friedns,” “contect number,” and “sucssesful.” Some phrases are also unnatural for this context: “graduation anniversary” and “good even organization company” do not express your meaning clearly or idiomatically. Choose familiar, accurate collocations rather than attempting phrases you are unsure about. Proofreading spelling and using standard expressions for a reunion, contact details, and event planning would improve clarity and make the letter sound more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the explanation beginning “Since then” and the request that the location “makes easy for everyone.” The main message remains understandable, but some errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “I would like arrange” needs an infinitive marker, “I have not meet” needs a past participle, and “I had moved Canada” has an incorrect tense and missing preposition. The sentence beginning “Since then” is also joined to the next idea with a comma, creating a run-on. Review past and present perfect forms, article use, and sentence boundaries; these corrections would make your varied structures more controlled.
