Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you propose a Christmas gathering at your countryside home, explain that classmates may be free and that music could recall college days, and ask your friend to find a professional chef and arrive early to help. These details make the purpose clear and keep the letter relevant. The explanation of why this format would be enjoyable is less fully developed: for example, you mention the old house, lights and music, but could explain how these would help classmates reconnect or share memories. The request for help is specific, though it could clarify whether your friend should contact the chef or assist with other arrangements. A more complete explanation of these ideas would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter follows a generally sensible order: you greet your friend, introduce the anniversary plan, describe the venue and arrangements, and then make a request. This gives the reader a clear overall sense of your purpose. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, however. Phrases such as “because of that” and “first of all” do not always connect ideas smoothly, and the long section about the venue, decorations, food and help would be easier to follow if divided into shorter paragraphs. The closing is present, but the transition from the event details to the request could be clearer. Use paragraph breaks for the main stages of the letter and connect each detail explicitly to the celebration plan.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “celebration,” “professional chef,” “colorful lights,” “western and indian food,” and “memorable,” so the reader can understand the event you have in mind. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less fluent, such as “orgnise,” “chrismiss,” “collegemates,” and “relise us our old days.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “held this event” and “make a memorable for whole life.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “hold the event,” “bring back memories,” and “make it a memorable occasion” would express your ideas more clearly and appropriately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because that day I hope everyone is free from there work so they can easily join.” The main message remains understandable, but errors in verb forms, sentence structure, articles and agreement occur in several places. For instance, “I hope yoy doing well” needs a finite verb, while “there I will be decorate the my old house” has an incorrect verb construction and article use. “I miss my college days” also shifts awkwardly from the past to the present context. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb patterns, articles and tense consistency. Breaking longer sentences into shorter, correctly structured ones would improve accuracy without limiting your ideas.
