Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Alexa,
I hope you're doing well. I am super excited to write this letter about the event which I am planning to organize next month for our college friends.
As you're aware, it's been a ten years since we have finished our graduation from the MS University. For that reason, I am thinking to arrange a small reunion for our batchmates and close friends. Moreover, I alredy took the permission from the college auditorium.
You know one thing, It will be nostalgic feeling for us if we reunite and celebrate this together in our college campus. I want to make this evening memorable.
I do need a favor frrom you, hope you don't mind. Can you please make an official invitation and send it to all friends? It will be great help for me. I will text you event itinary so you can follow. One more thing, contact as many friends you can to make this event special.
I will wait for your reply. See you soon. Take care
Your faithfully,
Priya

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three requested points: you propose a reunion for former classmates, explain that meeting on campus would feel nostalgic and memorable, and ask Alexa to prepare and distribute invitations and contact friends. These details make the purpose clear and keep the response relevant. However, the explanation of why this format would be especially suitable is brief, and the practical arrangements are only partly developed; for example, you mention the auditorium but give no further event details. The request for help is clear, though “event itinerary” is promised rather than explained. Develop the reasons and arrangements a little further so each part of the task is covered with similar detail, while keeping the friendly tone appropriate for a college friend.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: greeting and purpose, the reunion proposal, the reason for holding it on campus, a request for help, and a friendly closing. Paragraphing supports this progression, and phrases such as “For that reason” and “One more thing” help connect ideas. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking points. At times, however, transitions feel conversational or mechanical, particularly “You know one thing,” and the shift from the nostalgic reason to the request could be smoother. The reference to an itinerary is also not fully clear because its details have not yet been introduced. Use more natural transitions and make links between the event plan and each request explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the reunion plan and maintain a warm, informal tone. Expressions such as “nostalgic feeling,” “memorable,” and “official invitation” show attempts to choose language suited to the occasion. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision: “finished our graduation” is unnatural, “took the permission” is not the usual phrase, and “event itinary” is both misspelled and unclear. There are also spelling errors in “alredy” and “frrom.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they make the writing less accurate and polished. Learn common collocations for organising events and check spelling carefully; this will make your vocabulary more reliable and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, such as “I am thinking to arrange a small reunion for our batchmates and close friends.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the writer attempts to express plans, reasons, and requests. Some grammatical errors are present, however. For example, “it's been a ten years” has an incorrect article and plural form, while “I am thinking to arrange” needs a different verb pattern. “It will be nostalgic feeling” is missing an article, and “contact as many friends you can” needs “as” before “you can.” The closing “Your faithfully” also has an agreement error. Review articles, verb patterns, and comparative structures, and proofread sentence endings and punctuation to improve accuracy.
