Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Ramesh,
I hope you are doing well in your life.I miss you and all my college mates, as it has been ten years since we left each other. Therefore,I am planning to organise an event called " MEETING FRIENDS AFTER 10 YEARS " where we all are going to dance, share memories, sit together, and of course, enjoy dinner at the end.
Celebration becomes more prominant by doing such small activities as it put ourselves in beautifull nostalia. We all would find time to share our memories from that time by sitting in circle .For example, we all used to share our notes and knowledge, dancing and singing with each other on specific occassions, playing football and cricket and so on.If we organise dancing activities ,then we all would make these moments our excellent memories. In addition, dinner at the en will make this moment more relaxing and rewarding.
To fillfull this kind of act, I need your assistance to provide some new ideas and arraning decoration material, making invitation card , phoning to freinds and also seleting the best venue. Moreover, event activities , dinner items and dance activies can br fullfilled by your great effort and awesome suggestions.
I hope that you would try your best efforts to make this event fabulous.
Your best friend,
sdff

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three requested points: you propose a reunion with dancing, shared memories and dinner; explain that these activities will recall college life; and ask Ramesh to help with ideas, invitations, decorations and choosing a venue. The event is clearly relevant and the friendly tone suits a letter to a former classmate. The explanation of why the celebration would be enjoyable is less fully developed than the event plan: the examples of sharing notes, playing sports and celebrating occasions are useful, but the link between them and the proposed activities could be made more explicit. The request for help is also quite broad. To strengthen the response, explain why this format would suit the whole group and specify a few practical tasks for your friend to take responsibility for.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with the reason for writing and the event idea, then explains the celebration, and finally asks for help. Paragraphing supports this progression, and connectors such as “Therefore,” “For example,” and “Moreover” help show relationships between ideas. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, however. “Celebration becomes more prominent by doing such small activities” does not clearly connect the activities to the benefit, and the long list of past college experiences makes the middle paragraph harder to follow. The final request also combines several tasks in one sentence. Use clearer topic sentences and group related details—for example, event activities in one sentence and practical organising duties in another—to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to a reunion, including “share memories,” “venue,” “decoration material,” and “invitation card,” and the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “relaxing and rewarding” and “fabulous.” However, spelling errors and awkward word combinations are noticeable, including “prominant,” “nostalia,” “fillfull,” and “arraning.” Some choices are unclear or unnatural, such as “fill ourselves in beautiful nostalgia” (intended meaning) and “make these moments our excellent memories.” These issues limit precision and sometimes slow the reader. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for organising events, such as “reminisce about college,” “arrange decorations,” and “make lasting memories.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, for example, “I hope you are doing well in your life” and the sentence beginning “For example, we all used to share our notes…”. This shows some range, and the main message remains understandable. However, there are several errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms. In “as it put ourselves,” the verb and pronoun do not fit the intended meaning; “we all would find time” would be more naturally expressed as “we would all have time.” The list beginning “dancing and singing…” is not joined clearly to the sentence, and “dinner at the en will make this moment” has an unclear reference. Improve control of agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and proofread spacing after punctuation. More accurate complex sentences would make the ideas easier to follow.
