Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses the purpose of the task, which is to invite a friend to an anniversary event and request help with invitations. However, the tone is somewhat inconsistent, and the details provided are occasionally repetitive. For example, you mention the anniversary event in both the first and second paragraphs. While you have covered the requirements, the development of ideas could be more concise and natural. To improve, ensure that each paragraph serves a distinct purpose—such as the invitation, the event details, and the specific request for help—without repeating information unnecessarily.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'Just I want your a small help'. The transition between the event details and the request for help is abrupt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly. Ensure that referencing (e.g., 'our friends', 'the friends') is clear throughout the text to maintain logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and natural collocation expected at higher bands. Phrases like 'marriage anniversary' are understandable but 'wedding anniversary' is the standard collocation. You also use 'voluntary song competition', which is slightly unnatural in this context. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'dinning table' (should be 'dining table') and 'on behalf me' (should be 'on my behalf'). Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural, idiomatic expressions for social invitations would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'Hope your doing well' (should be 'you're'), 'it is ten years ago' (should be 'it was ten years ago'), and 'during celebration all my family members... were attending' (tense inconsistency). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, these frequent errors in basic grammar and punctuation indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of complex sentence structures and ensuring consistent verb tense usage.
