Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by identifying reasons for reoffending and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'lack of rehabilitation' and 'financial condition' as causes, the explanation remains superficial. The solutions provided—lectures on morals and job training—are relevant but could be expanded with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 6 or higher. The structure is clear, but the content lacks the depth required for a higher band score, as some points are repetitive or slightly unclear, such as the mention of 'brainstorming' in a prison context.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Primnlary' (likely meant to be 'Primarily') and 'Moreovere' are used to link ideas, but the flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'from which they have better image', where the connection to the previous clause is weak. The progression of ideas is present but lacks the smooth, logical transitions expected at higher levels.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'big crime', 'good morals', and 'staff persons'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'Primnlary', 'pratical', 'behavoiur', and 'Moreovere', which distract the reader. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of sophisticated collocations or less common vocabulary limits the score. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology related to the justice system, such as 'recidivism' instead of 'reoffending' or 'vocational training' instead of 'practical work'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('The offender are committing', 'their should be teaching'), article usage ('the proper lectures', 'the jobs'), and awkward phrasing ('this is mainly of the lack'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
