Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully mentioning the kind of celebration event, explaining why it would be good, and describing the help needed. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the explanation of why a party is beneficial touches on making friendships stronger and taking a break from a hectic life, but these points are expressed rather simply and lack full elaboration or extension. While the tone is appropriate for an informal letter to a friend, the partial development of ideas and somewhat repetitive points prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement, allowing the reader to follow the main points of the message. Paragraphing is attempted to separate different ideas, such as the purpose of the event, the reasons for it, and the request for help. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Transitional devices like 'To inagurate with' and 'Lastly' are used awkwardly, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in vague pronoun usage such as 'with this We have a oppoertunity' and 'in our life'. These cohesive shortcomings keep the organization from showing a smooth and clear progression throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are noticeable lexical errors and issues with word choice and spelling throughout the text, such as 'inagurate', 'companies' instead of companions or peers, 'oppoertunity', 'orgnize', 'benefical', 'importanat', and 'activty'. While the intended meaning usually comes through despite these slips, the frequent spelling and word-choice inaccuracies restrict the lexical range and prevent the response from demonstrating the more natural and precise control required at higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but these attempts are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles, incorrect prepositions, tense inconsistencies, and punctuation slips, such as 'I want organise party', 'alfter a long time', 'alot of fun activity which help', and 'everyone want to need break'. These errors frequently require the reader to pause or decode the intended meaning. The limited range of accurate structures and persistent errors across basic grammatical patterns place the writing firmly at this level.
