Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all the required bullet points from the prompt, demonstrating a clear overall purpose. You have stated the kind of celebration event you would like to organise by mentioning a get-together party at King Avenue resort, explained why it is a good idea by highlighting the chance to reconnect despite busy family obligations, and described the help needed from local friends for the menu and accommodation. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or expressed with limited detail, such as the brief explanation of the venue and the assistance required. To reach a higher level, you should extend your supporting ideas further and ensure all parts of the task are explored with greater depth and clarity.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your letter shows a coherent overall arrangement with a logical structure that moves appropriately from the greeting to the purpose of the event, reasons, requested help, and sign-off. Paragraphing is used to separate main ideas, giving the text a clear visual layout. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'That is why', 'To add to this', and 'Moreover', though referencing is at times slightly mechanical or repetitive. To move towards the higher bands, you could employ a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing between sentences is smoother and more natural throughout the entire letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'tangible reasons', 'family obligations', and 'considerable time'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as writing 'get to together' instead of 'get-together' or 'gathering', and 'This would efficient' instead of 'This would be efficient'. Spelling and word form slips do not severely impede communication, but they do restrict your score. To improve your lexical score, focus on using precise word forms, accurate collocations, and expanding your control over less common vocabulary items without making errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing includes a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'for those who will come from another region'. There are several errors in grammar and punctuation, including verb tense and structure issues like 'I would want to celebrate one get to together', 'with whom i was spend quality time', and 'i will going to organise'. Articles and prepositions also show frequent slips, such as missing the verb 'to be' in 'nobody have time'. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are persistent enough to place the response at this specific band. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase your control over verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and complex sentence structures to produce more error-free sentences.
