Dear Jassi,

i'm writing to discuss about celebrating our tenth anniversary together with our all college classmates and friends.

Since it has been a long time when we all friends met to each other, I;d like to organise a reuinoin part at home to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our friendship. I hope everyones like it as it'd be a chance for everyone to spend quality time together by memorising our old memories.

As you konw we all have got busy in our personal and professional lives, no one have time to visit each other separately as all are setteled in different cities. I think that it'd be a great way to plan an event to bring all the friends come together.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task satisfactorily, fulfilling the basic bullet points required by the prompt. You successfully state the kind of event you want to organise (a reunion party at home), explain why it would be good (to spend quality time together and reminisce), and describe the help needed (planning food, entertainment, and decorations). However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or brief, which keeps the response at this particular level. For example, the explanation regarding everyone's busy lives is raised but not fully expanded into a richer narrative. To reach a higher standard, you should extend and support your ideas with more elaboration, giving a more fully developed account of how the reunion might unfold.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter maintains a generally coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable friendly tone and a clear purpose. Paragraphs are used to separate different points, such as the introduction of the event, the reasons for celebrating, and the request for assistance. Nevertheless, referencing and cohesion are sometimes a bit mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases between sentences could flow more smoothly, and expressions like 'As it'd we a gathering' disrupt the logical progression. To improve further and achieve a smoother flow, you need to use a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices while ensuring that referencing words like pronouns are entirely clear and accurately positioned throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, successfully communicating your message about the college reunion, but it remains limited in range and features several noticeable errors. You attempt some less common expressions, but spelling and word-choice mistakes occasionally emerge, such as 'reuinoin', 'part', 'memorising' instead of 'reminiscing', 'konw', 'setteled', 'returing', and 'gustest'. Furthermore, phrases like 'discuss about' reflect collocation and word choice inaccuracies. While these issues do not entirely impede communication, they restrict your score. To reach higher bands, you should develop a wider and more flexible range of vocabulary, use precise collocations, and carefully proofread your writing to eliminate spelling slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The letter demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on straightforward patterns alongside a few attempts at complex sentences that contain noticeable errors. You show some control over basic structures, but frequent grammatical inaccuracies occur regarding subject-verb agreement and preposition use, such as 'all college classmates' and 'no one have time'. Additionally, punctuation and capitalization slips are present, including lowercase letters at the start of sentences like 'i'm writing' and 'i need'. To advance to the next level, you need to incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex structures and ensure tighter control over punctuation, articles, and verb-subject agreement.
