• describe what help you need to organise this event
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Rahul,
Iam writing this letter in regard to have a get together so called anniversary with all our 2025 batchmates. Since, last one year we have not met each other. This would be great opportunity for us to celebrate this anniversary together.
We would organise a musical party as this will have lots of entertainment.I know some girls might feel shy but may be after leaving from college they would be more freely now. I know some of them have gone for persuing their higher studies abroad and might be not be easy for them to be present for this even but we can give a try.
Everything can be easily oroganised through an event manager but only thing that I am worried is how to contact all of them since I don't have the contact details of some. Therefore, I would need your help here since you were our class representative and most of them are in touch with you. So, seeking a request here to support me on this topic.
I look forward to hear from you soon.
Thanks & regards,
Kirti

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You successfully addressed all parts of the letter prompt, including the type of celebration, the rationale behind it, and the specific request for help to contact other classmates. However, some parts of your response remain somewhat under-developed or unclear. For instance, your explanation of why a musical party is a good choice is brief and relies on a casual observation about your friends feeling more free now. Additionally, the mention of friends studying abroad is a bit tangential and distracts slightly from the main focus of planning the event with Rahul. To reach a higher level, you need to extend and fully develop all your ideas with clearer supporting details and maintain a more focused, consistent tone throughout the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your letter shows a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure that addresses the required bullet points in order. You attempted to link your ideas using cohesive devices like 'Since', 'Therefore', and 'So'. However, some of these cohesive links feel a bit mechanical or are used slightly inaccurately, such as starting a sentence with 'So, seeking a request here...'. Referencing and logical progression are generally understandable, but smoothing out these transitions and ensuring that every sentence flows naturally into the next without abrupt shifts in thought would elevate the cohesion of your writing to the next level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You used an adequate range of vocabulary to complete the task, successfully incorporating familiar functional phrases such as 'get together', 'batchmates', and 'event manager'. However, there are noticeable lexical and spelling errors that occasionally draw attention away from your message, such as writing 'oroganised' instead of 'organised' and 'persuing' instead of 'pursuing'. You also used awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'in regard to have a get together' and 'more freely now' instead of 'more free'. To improve your lexical score, you should focus on expanding your use of less common vocabulary with greater precision in spelling and word form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at relative clauses and conditional structures. However, your sentences contain frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding prepositions, verb forms, and articles. Examples include 'Iam writing this letter in regard to have', 'Since, last one year we have not met', and 'might be not be easy'. These errors require the reader to occasionally pause, though they do not completely impede communication. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
