Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully address all parts of the prompt by explaining that you want to organise a small gathering with food and games, giving reasons such as taking a break from the fast pace of life, and describing the help you need regarding the WhatsApp group. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the event type and your request for help are clear, your explanation of why this celebration format is beneficial remains somewhat brief and generalised. To move to a higher level, you should expand further on why this specific type of gathering would be particularly meaningful after a ten-year gap, providing deeper elaboration and clearer support for all your key points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement and follows an appropriate informal letter format, beginning with a suitable greeting to your friend. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted because the entire response is written as one single block of text rather than being organized into logical paragraphs. Furthermore, your use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive, such as starting sentences with 'so, thats why' or 'thererfore'. To achieve a higher score, you need to divide your thoughts into clear paragraphs corresponding to each part of the prompt, and employ a wider, more natural range of linking words to guide the reader smoothly through your message.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate vocabulary range to communicate your message about organizing a college reunion. You attempt less common words and phrases, such as 'fast pace of life' and 'respective jobs'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'collage' instead of 'college', 'gathring' instead of 'gathering', 'enoy' instead of 'enjoy', 'diffrent' instead of 'different', and 'thererfore' instead of 'therefore'. Additionally, you have repeated basic vocabulary items like 'small event' and 'help'. To reach the next band, you must improve your spelling accuracy, avoid basic repetitions, and use a wider variety of precise lexical items with correct collocations and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'It is almost ten years we left collage' and 'this kind of event give us a break through'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing capitalization for proper nouns ('ajay', 'rana'), omission of necessary prepositions ('It is almost ten years since we left'), subject-verb agreement issues ('this kind of event give'), and run-on sentence structures joined by commas without appropriate conjunctions or full stops. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist throughout the text. To improve your grammar score, you need to use a wider variety of error-free complex structures and pay closer attention to punctuation, articles, and verb forms.
