Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task satisfactorily, earning a solid score. You successfully mention the kind of event you wish to organise, which is a ten-year college anniversary get-together at the university. You also explain why this is a good idea, noting that it will help everyone relax from busy work lives and refresh old memories. Additionally, you clearly describe the help you need by asking your friend to use social media to contact former classmates. All bullet points are addressed, showing a clear purpose and tone suitable for a letter to a friend. To move into the higher band category, some of these ideas could be extended with more specific detail, such as mentioning specific activities planned for the day or proposing a concrete date and time for the celebration.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure appropriate for informal correspondence. You use paragraphs adequately to separate your introduction, the purpose of the event, the request for help, and the sign-off. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as "Firstly", "therefore", and "Morever". However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or faulty cohesion, such as the awkward transition in "However, I'm planing to organise a rejunian event for our all class student and friends." To achieve a higher band, referencing and linking words should be used more flexibly and naturally, ensuring smoother transitions between sentences without relying on forced connecting phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it suffers from a noticeable number of spelling and word-choice errors that place this criterion lower than the others. Throughout the letter, there are several misspellings such as "Jhon", "planing", "rejunian", "principle" instead of principal, "momery", "every one", "there work life", "now days", "Morever", and "tounch". While these errors do not completely impede communication and you make a basic attempt at less common vocabulary, the frequency of slips in basic and semi-formal terms restricts your lexical score. To improve, you need to broaden your control of word formation, double-check your spelling, and use more precise collocations when describing events and relationships.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating clauses like "as you are still in tounch with our all classmate through social media". There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as "it's been ten year" (missing plural), "our all class student" (awkward determiner placement), and the intrusive comma in "therefore , we can enjoy". Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and you maintain a reasonable level of control over basic structures. To reach the next band, you should aim to produce more error-free complex sentences, refine your command of pluralisation and articles, and ensure punctuation around connecting words is applied accurately.
