Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify a suitable event—a casual, whole-day meetup—and give a reason for it, namely that classmates can reconnect and build useful professional contacts. You also ask Shiva for support and input, so the main task points are present. However, the explanation of why this format would work is brief, and the help you need is not specific: for example, you do not say whether Shiva should contact classmates, choose a venue, or arrange activities. The response therefore addresses the task only partially, with ideas that remain under-developed. It is also 19 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain the plan and make the request more complete. Add practical details and develop each point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter follows a recognisable order: you introduce the meetup, describe the proposed format, give a reason, and ask for help. This gives the reader some organisation, and the greeting and sign-off suit a personal letter. However, the ideas are crowded into one long paragraph, while the final request is separated without a clear transition. Connections such as “In this way” are understandable, but the progression from a whole-day casual gathering to promoting business contacts is abrupt. Some sentences are difficult to follow because ideas run together, as in “I thought of posting about this in our college friends group so that everyboby knows.” Use separate paragraphs for the plan, its benefits, and the help needed, with clearer links between them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “meetup,” “casual,” “interact,” “professional,” and “contacts,” so the basic message can be understood. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or awkward expressions make the letter less clear and less natural. Examples include “everyboby,” “casualeetup,” “promte,” and “sucessfully”; “develop our circle through contacts” is also an unclear collocation. “Share my thought” would be more natural as “share my idea,” and “held this Event” does not express the intended meaning accurately. Aim for precise, conventional phrases for organising a reunion, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates its basic purpose, and you attempt to connect ideas using clauses such as “so that everybody knows about the meetup.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in verb forms, sentence construction, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to read. For example, “I would thougt of having” uses an incorrect verb form, while “The the meetup would be for whole day” has a repeated article and an incomplete article pattern. The opening “Hope you are doing well” is acceptable in an informal letter, but the following sentence is not clearly constructed. Break long sentences into shorter, complete ones, and check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
