Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Rahul,
Hope you are doing well buddy, I am writing to celebrate 10th anniversary after I left the college. For that I would like to invite all our classmates from the batch of 2011. I think it might be wonderful gathering.
I am thinking to organise a evening party at one of our famous party plot which is Queens resort. The theme would be mexican outfit as our meal would be on that concept too. In addition, there would be certain fun games were everyone can participate and the winner would get a designated gift card.
I believe that meeting our mates will reunite our old memories and friendship. After graduation everyone would be working on their specific field and by gathering we can have a brief discuss about everybody's career and this might help each other to grow and collabe.
I will need your help to accumullate everyones email or phone number to send them an invite. Moreover, you are very good at micro managment therefore I would like if you organise the event in timely manner.
I hope you find this letter well and I am exited to meet you on the part.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter covers all three required points: you propose an evening party at Queens Resort, explain that it could revive friendships and allow classmates to discuss their careers, and ask Rahul to collect contact details and help manage the event. These ideas are relevant and the purpose is clear. The explanation of why the celebration would be worthwhile is less fully developed: “reunite our old memories and friendship” is a promising idea, but you could explain more specifically what classmates would enjoy or gain from meeting. The request for help is also clear, though “organise the event in timely manner” could be made more specific by naming a practical responsibility. More development of these points would make the response feel more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: you introduce the anniversary, describe the proposed event, give reasons for it, and then ask for help. Separate paragraphs make the main stages easy to identify, and linking phrases such as “In addition” and “Moreover” help connect details. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “For that” does not clearly link the anniversary to inviting classmates, and “by gathering” makes the career discussion sound awkwardly attached to the previous idea. The closing also shifts abruptly from the request to “I hope you find this letter well.” Use more natural transitions and make references between ideas clearer to strengthen the overall flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for a social invitation, including “gathering,” “theme,” “participate,” “reunite,” and “career.” These choices communicate the event and its purpose, and some phrases show an attempt to be specific. However, several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation problems reduce precision: “collabe,” “accumullate,” “micro managment,” and “exited” are inaccurate, while “brief discuss” and “designated gift card” are not natural choices in context. “Party plot” may also be unclear to some readers. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “brief discussion,” “collect contact details,” and “gift voucher.” This would make the vocabulary more accurate and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, such as “After graduation everyone would be working on their specific field and by gathering we can have a brief discuss about everybody's career.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include the missing article in “organise a evening party,” the incomplete opening “Hope you are doing well buddy,” and the awkward construction “I would like if you organise.” There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, particularly in the long career sentence. Aim for more controlled complex sentences, and check articles, verb patterns, and punctuation. For example, write “I would like you to organise…” and divide the career idea into two sentences.
