Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Rakesh,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to reminder you, It has been 10 years since we graduated from our college and I am planning to celebarate this milestone with our friends and college classmates.
I believe this is the golden period of our life where we can make time for each other. I have made few arrangements such as visited multiple venues and gathered the catering and other fun activities brochure which I already shared under attachement. This reunion help us to collect memories and cherish every moment. Activities such as Memory-sharing session, Photo session, Icebreaker games help us to reconnect with each other easily. Some share recent news with old friends and to rebuild or renew relationships.
I would really appreciate your help in organising this event. Since you are still in touch with many of our former classmates, could you contact them and confirm their availability? It would also be great if you could help me find a suitable venue and select the best catering which I aalready shared with you ir suggest me another one.
Let's join hands together to make the evening memorable. Looking forward for your cordial support.
Yours loving,
Aaksh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you propose a reunion, explain that it would help classmates “collect memories” and reconnect, and ask Rakesh to contact former classmates and help with the venue and catering. The specific activities—memory-sharing, photos and icebreaker games—make the event idea relevant, while your request for practical help gives the letter a clear purpose. The explanation of why this format would be enjoyable is present, but some benefits remain general, and the celebration itself is not fully defined beyond the activities and venue. Develop the event concept further—for example, describe the kind of evening you envisage and explain how the activities would suit the group—to make the supporting ideas more consistently specific.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible sequence: you introduce the anniversary, outline the reunion and its benefits, then make a direct request and close warmly. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “Since you are still in touch” connect the request to a reason. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. However, some links between ideas are abrupt or unclear: “Some share recent news with old friends” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence, and the long sentence about choosing catering combines several requests. The opening also shifts from the anniversary to arrangements without a clear transition. Use clearer links between the event’s benefits and activities, and separate the practical requests into shorter, focused sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for a friendly reunion letter, including relevant expressions such as “milestone,” “cherish every moment,” “reconnect,” and “rebuild or renew relationships.” These choices help communicate the purpose and tone, and the event vocabulary is appropriate. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “golden period of our life,” “gathered the catering … brochure,” and “cordial support.” There are also spelling errors such as “celebarate,” “attachement,” and “aalready,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise phrasing—for example, refer to “a special milestone,” say you have “collected brochures from caterers,” and close by looking forward to Rakesh’s “help” or “support.” Proofreading would also catch spelling slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the conditional request “could you contact them” and the clause “Since you are still in touch with many of our former classmates.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the requests are expressed politely. Some grammatical errors occur, however. “I am writing to reminder you” uses the wrong form after “to”; “This reunion help us” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “I have made few arrangements such as visited” does not form a correct verb pattern. The sentence beginning “Some share recent news” is also incomplete or unclear in its relationship to the previous idea. Review verb forms, articles and agreement, and revise longer sentences so each clause has a clear subject and verb. Check punctuation, especially the capital letter after “you” in the opening.
