Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the main purpose by proposing a college anniversary party, explaining that it would bring former classmates together, and asking Sita to help contact people and organise practical details. These points are relevant, but the task is only partly developed: the event itself remains vague, and the reason for holding it at college is not clearly explained. The sentence about having left college “in recent month” also makes the timing of the anniversary confusing. Your request for help is present, but it would be clearer if you specified what you want your friend to do first. Develop each bullet with a little more precise detail and make your purpose clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The letter has a recognisable sequence: an opening, the event idea, reasons for it, and a request for help. Paragraph breaks also separate some of these functions. However, progression is not consistently clear, and ideas are repeated—for example, you ask several times for help finding or inviting friends. Connections such as “because” and “if” are used, but some links do not clearly show how the ideas relate, as in “because our college friends come.” The closing is also separated from the main request without a clear transition. Organise the letter around the three task points, use each paragraph for one purpose, and avoid repeating the same request.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central ideas, including “celebrate,” “friends,” “teachers,” “decorating,” and “food.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the message difficult to follow, such as “assent of all friends” and “manage this organise.” The repeated use of “anniversary” and “friends” also limits variety. Spelling errors, including “unniversary,” “oragnise,” and “inviting” where you mean “invite,” further reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, natural phrases for planning an event, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, describe the event as a reunion or celebration and refer to organising the arrangements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “that,” but these structures are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not reliably marked. For example, “I hope you doing well I'm writing” needs a verb form and punctuation, while “we are left ten year ago college” has problems with tense and sentence structure. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and verb forms, as in “I'm not alone manage this organise.” These frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Pay particular attention to past-tense forms, subject–verb agreement, and full stops.
