Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a rooftop dinner with a DJ, explain that it would let classmates reconnect and remember college, and ask Daman to help find a venue and locate former classmates. These ideas are relevant and the purpose of the letter is clear. Some parts, however, are less fully developed than others. The reasons for choosing this format are mostly general, and the request for help could be more specific—for example, say how many venues to shortlist or what information to gather about classmates. Adding practical details such as a date, approximate guest numbers, or a plan for the evening would make the proposal more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the reunion proposal to reasons for celebrating and then to a request for help. The closing also suits an informal letter. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the sentence beginning “It has been decade reunion” does not clearly connect the anniversary to the proposed event, and several ideas about meeting friends and reliving college days repeat one another. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “and” and “we would.” Organise the event details, reasons, and requested tasks into clearly focused paragraphs, and use references such as “This would give us a chance…” to connect ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to a reunion, including “anniversary,” “casual dinner party,” “guest list,” and “reconnect,” so the reader can understand the main topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or awkward word combinations make the writing less clear, such as “rooptop in restuarent,” “track down our bacthmates,” and “relieve our golden college days.” Some words are repeated, especially “friends” and “celebrate.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise expressions for the event and its purpose. For example, “reminisce about our college days” is more natural than “relieve our golden college days.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the intended message. However, several sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate, including “I am writing to regarding,” “We would can trip,” and “Weewould talk about life and taking photos.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “It has been decade reunion” and the run-on sequence “We would reserve a rooptop in restuarent We would…”. Use one modal verb at a time (“we could”), check that verbs after “and” follow a consistent pattern, and separate complete ideas with full stops. More accurate control of these patterns would make your plans easier to follow.
