It is ten years since you left college. You'd like to organise an event to celebrate this anniversary with all your friends and classmates from college.

• say what kind of celebration event you'd like to organise
• explain why you think it would be good to celebrate in this way
• describe what help you need to organise this event

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you propose a get-together at your home, explain that it would let classmates reconnect and remember college, and ask Rose to help with decorations. The specific date, time, food and drinks make the plan concrete. This meets the task well, and the clear invitation and request show some of the fuller development expected at the next level. However, the reason for choosing a small party at home is only briefly explained, and “get relaxation from our workload pressure” is not developed into a clear benefit of this particular event. Add a little more detail about what classmates could do together and why this format suits the anniversary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the opening states its purpose, the next paragraphs cover the event and its benefits, and the final main paragraph asks for help. This makes the message easy to follow. You also use basic links such as “Furthermore” and “however,” and the closing is appropriate. At times, though, the connections feel mechanical or unclear. “At this party” and “as I mentioned earlier” repeat information, while “this is the only chance” does not clearly follow from the preceding plan. Improve progression by linking each paragraph more directly to the anniversary and using pronouns or transitions only when their references are clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main arrangements, including “get-together,” “batchmates,” “snacks and drinks,” and “decoration arrangement.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms sound unnatural, which can make the reader pause. For example, “get relaxation from our workload pressure” is an awkward collocation, and “give me your hand” does not naturally express asking someone to help. There are also spelling and form errors such as “Futhermore” and “hous.” Aim for more natural phrases suited to a friendly letter, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for the event’s purpose and the help requested would make the message clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main message using a mix of short statements and longer clauses, including “I need a favour from you … as I mentioned earlier that …”. Some sentence forms are controlled, but errors in verb forms, sentence construction and punctuation remain. For example, “At a party there ll'be arrangement” needs a correctly formed future construction and article, while “Please this is my request to you give me your hand” joins clauses without the necessary structure or punctuation. The repeated shortened form “ll'be” is also not appropriate in this context. Practise forming complete requests and future-tense sentences, and check articles and punctuation; this will improve accuracy while preserving your clear overall meaning.
