Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make an attempt to invite your college friends and give relevant reasons for meeting, including reconnecting after a long time and sharing conversations. You also ask them to arrive early to help with preparations. However, the response does not clearly fulfil the anniversary task: it changes the occasion to your birthday, and the proposed event shifts between a home ceremony, a trip and camping. The type of celebration and the help required therefore remain unclear, while the reasons are only briefly explained. The opening addresses “Friends” rather than one college friend, and the closing request for a “positive reply” is also unclear. Keep the focus on the ten-year reunion and explain one event, its benefits and specific tasks you need help with.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable sequence: an invitation, reasons for meeting, plans and a request for help. Paragraph breaks help separate these points, and connectors such as “First of all” and “Also” show some awareness of linking ideas. However, progression is weakened by abrupt shifts from a birthday gathering to a ceremony, trips and camping, so the reader cannot follow one consistent plan. Some links are inaccurate or unclear, including “thatswhy,” and several sentences run ideas together without clear punctuation. Organise the letter around the three requested points, using one paragraph for the event and reasons and another for the practical help. Clearer transitions and references would make the message easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to social plans, such as “college days,” “camping programs,” “gathering” and “pending work,” so the basic subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message less clear or natural. For example, “ceremony” does not clearly describe a reunion celebration, “experience those joys” is an awkward way to refer to shared memories, and “positive reply” is not a natural closing request. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “beacause,” “oppertunity” and “togather.” Choose precise expressions for the event and preparations, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is conveyed more smoothly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “I plan a short trip and some camping programs” followed by a request to take leave. This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “I am writing you this letter beacause i wants,” “I hope you all knows,” and “its have been a very long duration.” These contain problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement and sentence construction. Articles and prepositions also need attention, as in “at my home” and “arrive 2 day before from ceremony.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses and check agreement, tense and punctuation.
