Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify a reunion for your college batch and give relevant practical details, including using the college function hall during the Christmas holidays and arranging food, decorations, and a group photo. However, the requested kind of celebration is not stated clearly as a complete proposal, and the reason for choosing it is only briefly explained. The letter also focuses heavily on a list of arrangements rather than explaining what help you specifically need from Latha. For example, you mention collecting contact details and arranging gifts, but do not clearly ask your friend to take responsibility for particular tasks. Develop each bullet point directly: describe the event, explain its benefits, and make a clear request for your friend’s help.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable letter format, with a greeting, some event-related information, and a closing. It also moves broadly from contacting classmates to discussing the venue and arrangements. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into long, loosely connected sections, and the slash and list format interrupt the flow. Phrases such as “Here are some main points we are going to discuss event” do not clearly connect the preceding and following ideas. Organise the letter into clear paragraphs—one for the reunion proposal, one for why it would work, and one for the help you need—and use linking phrases to show how each point relates to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for planning a reunion, including “contact details,” “function hall,” “decoration,” and “group photo,” so the reader can identify the general topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts harder to understand, such as “get to gather,” “gradution,” “inavite,” and “fainal.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “felicitation and gift arrangements” and “children play things.” Check spelling carefully and choose more natural collocations, such as “organise a reunion,” “invite our classmates,” and “children’s activities.” A wider range of precise event-planning language would help you explain the celebration and your request more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate several connected ideas, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Once we get all of the contact details can create a whatsapp group” is missing a subject in the main clause, while “we should to felicitation” has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and punctuation is inconsistent, as in “So,we” and the slash after “time.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise patterns such as “We should invite…” and “Once we have collected the details, we can create…”. More accurate sentence construction will make your plans easier to follow.
