• explain why you think it would be good to celebrate in this way
• describe what help you need to organise this event
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hey Jennie, I hope you are doing well. It's been so long since we all met.If I'm not wrong it has been almost 10 years we left our college and didn't get a chance to meet everyone at the same time.
I'm organising a get togerther event with all of the college friends and classmates to celebrate the 10 year completion ceremony of the graduation.
I am planning to have a grand celebration in a famous restaurant located in the downtown of our city. The reason why I chose the location is easily accessible for everyone.
As everyone is so busy in their life including me. I think it would be better if we meet together and share our achievements and the pending goals which we decided together.
I'm going to reserve a small party space in a restaurant but for that, I need some personal information of all of us. I've added some I already know but for the rest if you can help me to get.I can't wait to see you all!
Lovingly,
Jannat

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a restaurant gathering, explain that it is accessible and would let classmates share achievements and goals, and ask Jennie to help collect classmates’ information. These are relevant ideas, and the purpose of the letter is clear. However, some parts are less fully developed than others. For example, “a grand celebration” is not explained in practical terms, and the reason for choosing this format is brief. The request for help is also vague: specify which details you need and how Jennie could contact or gather them. A more explicit invitation and a clear date or next step would make the letter more complete and purposeful.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The ideas follow a generally sensible order: you open by recalling the time since college, introduce the reunion plan, give a reason for it, and then ask for help. This makes the letter understandable overall. Some connections and paragraphing could be clearer, however. The opening and event plan run together, while the reason and request are not separated into distinct paragraphs. Phrases such as “As everyone is so busy in their life including me” do not connect smoothly to the following point, and “for the rest if you can help me to get” leaves the reference unclear. Use clear paragraph breaks and link each point directly to the next, especially when moving from the event idea to the practical request.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “celebrate,” “achievements,” “goals,” and “reserve a small party space.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “easily accessible.” However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “10 year completion ceremony of the graduation,” “get togerther event,” and “in the downtown of our city.” Spelling errors such as “togerther” also reduce accuracy. Choose natural phrases for a reunion, such as “10-year college reunion,” and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise wording for the information you need would also make the request easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, for example, “The reason why I chose the location is easily accessible for everyone.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and naturalness. In that example, the clause needs a structure such as “I chose this location because it is easily accessible.” Other issues include “it has been almost 10 years we left our college,” which needs a clearer time construction, and “if you can help me to get,” which is incomplete. There are also punctuation problems where sentences run together, such as “met.If.” Practise accurate clauses with because, since, and if, and proofread sentence boundaries and verb forms.
