Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements clearly. You propose a reunion party at a restaurant, explain that it would let classmates reconnect and recall college memories, and specify practical help such as contacting classmates, creating a WhatsApp group, choosing a venue and menu, and sharing expenses. These details make the purpose clear and the tone is appropriately friendly for writing to a college friend. The reasons for the celebration are relevant, though some are presented as a list rather than developed with a specific example or detail. To strengthen the response further, explain briefly why a restaurant suits the group or how the activities would help everyone reconnect.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: greeting and context, the proposed event, reasons for it, requests for help, and a friendly closing. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Moreover” help connect related points. The reader can follow the plan without difficulty. At times, however, several ideas are crowded into one paragraph, particularly the list of tasks in the final body paragraph, and some connectors feel repetitive or are capitalised inconsistently. Grouping the practical requests into a more deliberate sequence—for example, first contacting classmates, then arranging the venue and activities—would make the organisation even smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the reunion plan and its purpose, including “reunion party,” “college memories,” “special bond,” and “share the expenses.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “wuth,” “grat,” “oppourtunity,” and “met” where “meet” is needed. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “a best restaurant,” “a memories,” and “contact our all old classmates.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they make the letter less fluent. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for organising events and describing friendships.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes some attempts at complex sentences, such as “I think its a great oppourtunity to met our old friends after so long,” and uses future forms to describe the arrangements. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms affect fluency. Examples include “I hope you all are doing well in yours life,” “It almost 10 years,” “we guys didn't met each other,” and “We can clicks.” There are also punctuation and capitalisation problems, such as the comma after “know” and “Furthermore” after a comma. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
