Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you propose a restaurant party, explain that it would let classmates reconnect and make new memories, and ask Jacob to send invitations and create a group chat. These are relevant ideas, and the purpose of the letter is clear. However, some points are less fully explained than others. For example, you say the restaurant is famous and holds college memories, but do not explain why this setting would suit the anniversary beyond that. The request for help is also quite brief; you could specify which classmates Jacob should contact or ask him to help confirm attendance. Developing these details would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, a paragraph about the event and its purpose, and a final request for help. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, and phrases such as “Since everyone have there own life” and “This is the time for us” attempt to connect the reasons for meeting. However, some links are unclear or mechanical: “Since everyone have there own life. Will catch up them” is split into an incomplete thought, and the shift from the restaurant to catching up could be smoother. Paragraphing is appropriate, but clearer sentence connections and more precise references would improve the progression—for example, explain directly that the gathering will give everyone a chance to share news and celebrate their achievements.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main plan, including “anniversary,” “memories,” “invitation,” and “groupchat.” The tone is friendly and suitable for writing to a college friend. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “host a party,” “everybody will have a time to attend,” and “catch up them for everyone achievements.” Spelling and form errors, including “longkweekend,” “atttend,” and “Yourstrully,” also reduce precision. Aim for natural phrases such as “get together,” “have a chance to attend,” and “catch up on everyone’s news.” A wider range of accurate expressions would make the letter more fluent and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the reader can usually understand the main message. Some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “I hope you be fine” needs a suitable verb form, while “I decided to organized” and “This party will held” have incorrect verb patterns. In “Since everyone have there own life. Will catch up them,” the agreement and sentence structure make the relationship between ideas difficult to follow. There are also errors in tense and punctuation, such as “Its been” and the repeated full stops. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns; this would make your meaning clearer while preserving your attempts at varied structures.
