Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a day-long reunion with a DJ party, explain that it could renew friendships and help classmates seeking work, and ask Neethu to find missing contacts and recommend a caterer. These details make the letter relevant and give it a friendly purpose. Some parts, however, are less fully explained than others. For example, the benefit of helping friends find jobs is mentioned but not developed into how the event would support them, and the proposed Saturday, December timing and possible trip are not made very specific. To strengthen the response, explain more clearly how the celebration would work and why this format suits the group. The informal tone and sign-off are appropriate for a college friend.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening, paragraphs about the event and its benefits, a request for help, and a closing. The sequence is generally understandable, and phrases such as “Moreover” help introduce an additional request. However, several ideas are crowded into long sentences, so the progression can feel uneven. The paragraph beginning “I was thinking of inviting” moves from family invitations to friendship and then job support without clearly separating these points. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “that the chance to get know each other.” Use shorter sentences and organise each paragraph around one main purpose—for example, event plans, reasons, and practical help. This would make the connections between ideas clearer and less dependent on linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary suited to a friendly reunion letter, including “DJ party,” “classmates,” “catering service,” and “cherish,” and the reader can understand the main plans. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “help,” “plan,” and “event,” while several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “create a amazing memories,” “helding on,” and “annuv(al) day”; these reduce naturalness and sometimes make the intended meaning less immediate. Aim for more precise expressions, such as “host a reunion,” “make lasting memories,” and “celebration.” Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, especially for organising events and describing their benefits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because” and “that,” and the overall message remains understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “I'm thinking of organise” needs a gerund after “of,” while “we can dance together that brings our older memories” combines clauses without a clear grammatical link. There are also errors in articles and sentence formation, as in “create a amazing memories” and “Hope you are doing amazing girl?” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and sentence openings. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then connect them with accurate subordinate clauses. This will help you show range without losing control.
