Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a reunion at a restaurant, explain that classmates can reconnect and share news about their lives, and ask Manpreet to contact and invite people. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. The explanation of why the event would be enjoyable is less fully developed: the games and chance to catch up are mentioned, but you could explain more specifically why this format suits the group. The request for help is clear, though “reach each and everyone” could be made more precise by saying how Manpreet might gather contact details or confirm attendance. A clearer invitation and a more complete explanation of the event’s appeal would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the event, activities, reasons to meet, and the help you need. This gives the reader an overall sense of the message’s progression. However, connections between ideas are sometimes unclear or mechanical. For example, “All are friends are coming” follows the games paragraph without a clear link, and “However” is used twice in the final paragraph even though the ideas are not contrasting. Some references, such as “this whole event,” are broad, and the closing “Hope you find this letter” does not clearly complete the message. Use linking phrases to show relationships between ideas and make the invitation, request, and closing flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary suited to a reunion, including “celebration,” “reunion party,” “company,” and “catering,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are prominent, as in “remberable,” “intriduce,” “orgnaised,” and “overwhelming charming.” Some expressions are difficult to interpret, particularly “invite you with such an owner” and “change to enjoy the company.” These issues limit precision and sometimes make the message awkward to read. Aim for familiar, accurate collocations rather than combining several descriptive words; for example, “I’d be delighted if you could join us” is clearer and more natural than the opening phrase.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both short statements and attempts at longer sentences, such as the sentence explaining that many classmates have moved abroad and are hard to contact. This shows some range, and the main message is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles occur across the letter. Examples include “we going to meet,” “All are friends are coming,” and “I and our old friend jashan decided.” The final paragraph also contains a sentence that is difficult to follow because its clauses are not joined clearly. Practise forming complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense. Breaking longer ideas into two accurate sentences would improve control without losing detail.
