Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to cover the requested points by proposing a reunion party, explaining that classmates could reconnect without phones, and asking Sumit to arrange the DJ, bar and dinner. These details show a relevant basic idea for the event. However, the purpose becomes unclear when you call it “my 10th anniversary” and say you want to surprise your wife; the task is about celebrating ten years since leaving college with classmates. The request for help is also vague, since it is not clear whether Sumit should organise the whole programme or only hire people. Develop the reunion plan consistently and explain more clearly why this format would suit the group and what specific tasks you need your friend to handle.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, body and closing, and the ideas broadly move from an invitation to party details and then to a request for help. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several points are crowded into long sentences, such as the description of the 50-person reunion and the phone box. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear: “It is my 10th anniversary” shifts abruptly to a surprise for your wife, and “so” does not make the relationship between the ideas clear. Paragraphing would help separate the event proposal, reasons for it and practical arrangements. Use clearer links and references so the reader can follow who is doing what and why.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for a social event, including “reunion,” “DJ,” “bar,” “dinner” and “busy schedule.” These words help communicate the general setting. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or awkward choices make parts of the message difficult to understand, such as “we do not mate,” “all time be never meet each other,” and “do gossips.” Spelling errors such as “becuase” and “distruct” also reduce clarity. Build a more accurate set of phrases for inviting classmates, reconnecting and arranging an event, and check spelling and collocations. More precise wording would make your ideas easier to understand without changing the friendly tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and connectors, for example, “because you have to arrange the program” and “so that phone should not…,” but sentence structures are limited and many attempts are faulty. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction occur throughout: “It is like a decade we do not mate,” “all have to submit the phone,” and “you have to hire the people” do not form clear, accurate sentences. There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, including “the very special thing be” and the run-on sentence beginning “In the party.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
