Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requirements: you propose a restaurant reunion, explain that it would let classmates reconnect and remember college, and ask Simran to help contact classmates, choose a venue, and collect money. These are relevant, practical details, so the purpose of the letter is clear. The explanation of why this format would be enjoyable is less developed: music, games, dancing, and food are listed, but you could explain how these activities would help everyone celebrate together. The proposed date, “next saturday,” is also quite specific without checking whether it suits the group. Develop the reasons and make the arrangements sound more tentative, such as asking Simran to help choose a suitable date.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the reunion and its purpose, a request for practical help, and a closing. The sequence from proposing the event to explaining the reason and then asking for assistance is easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “So” and “Moreover,” and references to “this party” help connect ideas. However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear, particularly “Therefore” after the proposal and “Additionally” before the date. The first paragraph also runs several event details together, and punctuation around the list is inconsistent. Use paragraphing and linking words to show the relationship between ideas more precisely, rather than adding a connector to every new point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main purpose and includes relevant event terms such as “reunion party,” “classmates,” “restaurant,” and “expenses.” However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce the naturalness of the letter: “remeber,” “appericate,” and “thecolg” are difficult to read, while “find the information of all classmates” is an awkward phrase. Some expressions are also repetitive, especially “help” and “party.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, such as “get in touch with our classmates” and “organise a reunion dinner.” A few precise alternatives would make the message clearer and more polished without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and joined sentences, for example, “It has been ten years since we left the college” and “So, this is a great time to meet with each other.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the letter. Examples include “It feel like ages,” “I had like to organise,” and “we all are busy in their life”; these should be “It feels,” “I would like,” and “we are all busy with our lives.” The sentence beginning “I want to organise music” also needs a clearer grammatical structure. Work on accurate basic patterns first, then combine ideas using controlled complex sentences. Check punctuation and sentence boundaries, especially in the opening paragraph.
