Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you propose a theme-party reunion, explain that it would let classmates meet again after a long time, and ask for help finding contacts, choosing a venue, sending invitations, and arranging dinner. The purpose is clear and the ideas are relevant. Some parts, however, are less fully developed than others. For example, you mention a hotel near the airport but do not explain why this would suit classmates living in different towns, and the theme-party idea could be made more specific. Clarify what kind of theme you have in mind and what practical tasks you would like Noor to take responsibility for. This would make the plan more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally coherent sequence: you open with a personal greeting, introduce the reunion, discuss the venue and classmates’ locations, then move to invitations and dinner before closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “However,” “Nevertheless,” and “Additionally” show how ideas relate. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. The venue discussion shifts from missing contact details to where classmates live and then to a hotel without a clear progression. Some references, such as “this events,” are also difficult to follow. Group the planning points more deliberately and use clearer transitions—for example, explain the venue challenge first, then propose a location and ask Noor for a specific opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for a friendly reunion letter, including “theme party,” “anniversary,” “contact details,” “invitation letter,” and “classmates.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “Reuinion,” “Celeberation,” “Personnal,” and “officials College Social media Pages.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “Throw an event” and “share it with other classmates.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the plan, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for organising events, such as “hold a reunion,” “celebrate an anniversary,” and “post an invitation on the college’s social media page.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “as we were planning to…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “How you doing,” “Its been a decade,” “it would great,” and “we need to mutually decides.” The sentence beginning “As you were familiar that” is also not formed correctly, and several long sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise complete question forms and consistent verb patterns, such as “How are you doing?”, “it would be great,” and “we need to decide together.” Breaking longer sentences into shorter units will improve control and readability.
