Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose a Christmas get-together at your apartment, explain that the holidays suit busy former classmates, and ask John to help buy food and drinks and prepare for the party. The purpose and friendly relationship are clear. However, the event itself is only briefly described, and the reason for inviting classmates’ families is not explained. The request for help is also somewhat unclear: “your expert guidance” does not specify what particular preparation you want John to handle. Develop these details—for example, describe planned activities and assign John a clear task—to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph explaining the timing and guests, and a final paragraph requesting help. The sequence from proposing the event to explaining its suitability and asking for assistance is easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Since,” “Therefore,” and “Firstly.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately; “Therefore” is not needed before the request, and “Since” begins a sentence fragment when followed by a comma. The final request would be clearer if the shopping and preparation tasks were separated and connected more naturally. A conventional closing would also complete the letter more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for a friendly invitation, including “get together,” “hectic lifestyle,” “classmates,” and “food and drinks.” These choices make the main message understandable, and “hectic lifestyle” shows an attempt to use more descriptive language. However, several spelling errors—such as “liesure,” “apratment,” “purposal,” and “prepration”—are noticeable, while phrases such as “in great spirit” and “give me a hand for the preparation” are not natural collocations. “Routine life” is also less idiomatic than “daily routine.” Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships so your vocabulary sounds more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “Since” and a sentence explaining why the holiday period is suitable. The message remains understandable, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “It's been a decade since we graduated … and never get a chance” shifts awkwardly between a completed past event and the present; write “we graduated … but have never had a chance.” The opening “Since, we all are working professional…” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, and “your expert guidance high appreciated” is missing a verb. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and punctuation. Practise complete clauses and check verb forms and sentence boundaries.
