Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hello Nitya,
I hope you are doing well. I am planning to arrange an event next month in which all of our college friends and classmates can be invited for small get to gather.
I would like to go back to college days and recreate those memories. I hope if we can arrange the old photographs and decorate it on walls on that day. In addition, we can elive those memories by doing funny things such as giving funny awards to out latecomers and most mischivious student.
I think it os the best way to distress ourselves in this hectic daily lives. I would love to meet same people with different personality now. It would be great to see each other after a decade. Through this party, our family members can also have chance to knowing them personally.
Regarding assistance, I would like to request you arrange food from your pizza store. As everyone knows that your pizza store is best in the city and everyone liked it including the children. Therefore, I would insist you to bring two or three varieties of pizza's. I will send you the approximate numers of our guests.
I am looking forward to see you there.
Yours faithfully,
Bindi Soni

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you propose a reunion with old photographs and humorous awards, explain that it would help everyone reconnect after a decade, and ask Nitya to provide pizzas. The purpose is clear and the ideas are relevant. The event itself could be specified more fully—for example, whether it will be a party at the college or another venue, and when or how guests will be invited. The reason about families meeting is also introduced but not explained in much detail. These gaps mean some parts are developed more fully than others, although the main request is communicated and supported with relevant details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression from the proposed reunion, to reasons for holding it, to the help you need. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking phrases such as “In addition,” “Regarding assistance,” and “Therefore” make the relationships between ideas easy to follow. The closing is also appropriate. Some connections could be smoother: the sentence about family members appears abruptly after the point about meeting classmates, and “I hope if we can arrange…” makes the relationship between the suggestion and your hope unclear. Overall, however, the organisation is logical and the reader can follow the purpose without difficulty. More precise links between supporting details would make the progression feel more consistently controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary for a reunion, including “recreate those memories,” “latecomers,” “mischievous,” and “varieties of pizza.” These choices help convey a personal, friendly tone. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “get to gather,” “elive,” “distress,” “mischivious,” and “numers” appear where more accurate forms are needed. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “different personality now” and “approximate numbers of our guests.” The intended meaning is generally recoverable, but these errors make the language less fluent and occasionally require the reader to interpret what you mean. Focus on accurate spelling and natural collocations alongside expanding your range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the conditional idea “if we can arrange…” and the reason introduced by “As everyone knows…”. The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “I hope if we can arrange” needs a different clause structure, while “I would insist you to bring” requires a different verb pattern. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and verb forms in “in this hectic daily lives,” “everyone liked it,” and “have chance to knowing them.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are mostly clear, but the range is not yet consistently controlled. Review verb patterns and clause construction, then check agreement and articles when editing.
