Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you propose an outdoor gathering by the beach with performances, explain that it would revive college memories and help everyone stay connected, and ask your friend to create a WhatsApp group and share event-manager contacts. These details make the letter relevant and give the reader a clear sense of your plan. Some parts are less fully developed, however. For example, you mention that you are going abroad next month and want to see everyone, but do not explain how this affects the timing or arrangements. The request for help could also be more specific about what you expect your friend to do beyond setting up the group and sharing contacts. Developing these points would make the purpose and plan clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the anniversary, describes the proposed celebration, explains its value, and then asks for help. Paragraph breaks support this progression, and phrases such as “because” and “to organize this event” help connect ideas. At times, however, the links feel mechanical or the references are unclear. For instance, “this year event” and “this event” are repeated without always making the relationship between the anniversary and the gathering precise. The transition from your plan to the reason for celebrating is also abrupt. Use clearer referencing and vary the links between ideas—for example, explain directly how the performances and shared memories would make the reunion enjoyable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main plan, including “open area,” “performance,” “memorable,” “assistance,” and “contact details.” The wording is generally understandable, but the range is limited and several choices or forms sound unnatural, such as “a event,” “go to abroad,” “these kind of funs,” and “these type if gathering.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim for more natural collocations and precise event-related language, such as “an outdoor venue,” “performances,” and “a reunion.” Check spelling and word forms carefully, especially in phrases like “if gathering,” where the intended word appears to be “of.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because Iám planning to go to abroad next month” and a relative clause in “one of our classmate sang very well.” The main message remains understandable, but some errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries reduce accuracy. Examples include “a event,” “all our classmate must participate,” and “you could create a whatsapp group and made me as admin.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at the beginnings of sentences. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
