Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main purpose and include the three requested elements: a reunion party, the beach as the venue, and a request for Linda to contact the beach about booking. The date and time also make the plan more concrete. However, the explanation of why this celebration would be good is brief: you mention the weather and that families can attend, but do not develop these reasons or explain what the group could do together. The help requested is also quite narrow, focusing mainly on booking details. Add a little more about the event itself and specify any further assistance you need, such as contacting classmates or arranging food, to make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a generally understandable order: you open with personal news, introduce the reunion plan, give a reason for the venue, and then ask Linda for help. This gives the reader a basic progression. However, the first paragraph contains several ideas in a long, crowded sequence, and transitions such as “therefore” do not connect the reasoning smoothly. The shift from the beach being suitable to the booking request could also be clearer. Use separate paragraphs for the reunion proposal and the practical arrangements, and connect each reason directly to the plan. Clearer sentence boundaries and more purposeful linking would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the task, including “reunion party,” “organize this event,” “booking details,” and “onwards,” so the purpose is generally clear. There are also attempts at conversational expressions such as “How time flies in a blink of an eye.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “yaers,” “Anwayhow,” “celbrate,” and “geat,” and some phrasing is unnatural, such as “our batch in college” and “I am looking forward to hear from you.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Check spelling carefully and choose more natural collocations, for example “our college class” and “I look forward to hearing from you.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response communicates its main ideas, but grammatical control is uneven and the sentence structures are mostly simple, with some attempts at longer sentences. Several errors affect accuracy, as in “Good day Linda hope you are doing well” (missing punctuation and a subject), “It has been long time” (article), and “It must be great if we will celbrate it” (conditional form). The sentence beginning “Since the weather is good” is also joined awkwardly to “therefore,” creating a faulty structure. Use complete sentences, check articles and verb forms, and avoid joining clauses with both “since” and “therefore.” A wider range of accurately controlled sentence patterns would improve clarity.
