Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you propose a reunion at the Royal Hotel, explain that it would help classmates reconnect after years out of touch, and ask your friend to arrange food service and invite classmates. The purpose and friendly tone are clear. The explanation of why this format is suitable is relevant, especially the chance to “spend some quality time together,” but it could be developed further by explaining what the stage, dinner, or dancing would add to the celebration. The requests for help are also understandable, though more specific details—such as what food arrangements or invitations you have in mind—would make them more complete. This covers the task well overall, with some ideas less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall sequence: you introduce the reunion, describe the proposed activities, explain the reason for celebrating, and then ask for practical help. Paragraph breaks support this progression, and linking phrases such as “Apart from this,” “So,” and “Also” help connect points. The organisation is coherent, although some transitions feel mechanical or abrupt, particularly the move from the event details to the anniversary explanation. A few references could also be clearer: “where we can go and meet there” repeats the location without specifying what the stage is for, and “certain things” is vague before the requests are listed. More precise links between the event plan and your requests would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the event and your requests, including “reunion event,” “classmates,” “food service,” and “quality time.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “dance programmes.” However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “celebreate,” “beacause,” and “greateful” make the letter look less controlled, while “arrange a small stage for our teachers where we can go and meet there” is awkward and imprecise. Some phrases are also repetitive, particularly “arrange” and “help.” Build a more accurate range of natural collocations—for example, “organise a reunion,” “book a venue,” and “cater the event”—and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the reason clause beginning “because” and the conditional request “It would be … if you could help me.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “hope you are well” needs a subject, “help to assist me in organise” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “I would like explain” is missing “to.” The sentence “from the past so many years we have been not in touch” also has an awkward time expression and word order. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and the full stops around “Royal Hotel.” Review infinitive patterns, present-perfect forms, and sentence punctuation to make your varied structures more accurate.
