You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Shubham,
I hope you're doing great. I am writing this letter to you regarding a event that I want to organise on 3 November. I hope you remember that on this date our 10 years will be completed of the college.
I want to organise a night party at my home and I already got permission from my parents. I have a plan, we invite our batchmates who really closed us and we will cut a cake, dance on traditional and re-union songs, enjoy food and drinks as well as play some games.
Moreover, I think it is good way to meet everyone and little celebrate. One good thing is we will celebrate at home so everyone can come and stay relaxed. As you know we didn't met from last ten years. Therefore, should we do organise this anniversary.
Furthermore, I want a favour from you. I don't have Sameer, Tisha, Harleen and Nisha's contact please you invite them for me and if is it possible can you come early at my place because on that day we should do some arrangements like decorations.
I hope you would like my idea and if you want to add something you can suggest me and I am waiting for you.
Take care,
Abhishek

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points and maintain a friendly, appropriate tone for writing to a college friend. The proposed home party, with cake, music, food and games, gives a clear picture of the event, and you explain that meeting after ten years and celebrating in a relaxed setting would be enjoyable. Your request is also specific: you ask Shubham to contact four classmates and arrive early to help with decorations. Some ideas are less fully developed, however: the reason for choosing a home party is brief, and “Therefore, should we do organise this anniversary” does not clearly express your view. Explain more directly why this format suits the group and state your proposal confidently to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: you introduce the anniversary, describe the event, give reasons, and then ask for help. Paragraphing supports this progression, and expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “As you know” help connect ideas. At times, though, the linking feels mechanical, and some connections are unclear. For example, “Therefore, should we do organise this anniversary” interrupts the explanation rather than leading naturally to the request. The long sentence listing the party activities would also be easier to follow if divided or punctuated more carefully. Use a wider variety of natural links and make sure each sentence clearly follows from the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the event and requests, including “batchmates,” “traditional,” “arrangements,” and “decorations.” The reader can understand the main message, but several word choices and collocations are noticeably unnatural or imprecise, which limits the range and control. For instance, “a night party” and “little celebrate” do not express your meaning naturally, while “batchmates who really closed us” is difficult to interpret. “I want a favour from you” is understandable but could be phrased more naturally for this context. Aim to learn common combinations for invitations and celebrations, and check whether each phrase conveys the intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in articles, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “a event,” “our 10 years will be completed of the college,” “we didn't met,” and “if is it possible can you come early.” The sentence beginning “I have a plan, we invite…” also joins ideas without a suitable grammatical connection. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main points remain understandable. Practise accurate past and future forms, question structures, and article use, and separate independent clauses with a full stop or an appropriate conjunction.
