Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear ...............,

How are you? it's been so long time since we last saw you. I'm planning to organise an event with all our classmates in this year.

My plan would be to vist the school agian,it's been so long time about a decade. After that, we play some games at park and also we all like to have dinner together at "vantara Hotel".

We haven't seen for long time each other, so this is the best way to make gather for some reason. Additionally, this is best time to introduce with all because we all have stories about to talk. Some are working as emploee other are self-employeed, which good to know each other will help any time in future.

For this event, firstly, we have to contact each person and ask when there are available for this event and fix one date that suits for all. you help out in contatcing the person. Furthermore, we have to book venue and dinner dish at hotel for this cause I'd assume we will be more than 50 people.

see you soon! if have any question at any point feel free to conatct me.

Take care,

Daksh Patel.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you propose revisiting the college, playing games in a park and having dinner at a hotel; explain that classmates can reconnect and share stories; and ask your friend to contact people and help arrange the booking. These details make the purpose clear and suit the friendly letter. The reasons for the celebration are relevant, but the explanation of why this particular plan would be enjoyable is less developed than the event and organising details. For example, you could explain what revisiting the school would mean to the group or why dinner is a good way to catch up. The response covers the task well overall, with some ideas already extended, but fuller support for the reasons would make it more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: greeting and purpose, proposed activities, reasons, practical arrangements, and a friendly closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and connectors such as “Additionally” and “Furthermore” show how ideas relate. Some links are less smooth or precise, however. “We haven't seen for long time each other” makes the relationship between the ideas difficult to follow, and the shift from explaining the benefits to discussing classmates’ employment feels abrupt. The planning paragraph also combines contacting everyone, choosing a date and booking dinner in a long sequence. Use clearer references and transitions, and separate the practical steps more deliberately, to make the progression more consistently natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the event and its arrangements, including “classmates,” “celebrate,” “venue,” and “self-employed.” However, the range is limited in places, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less natural: “vist,” “agian,” “emploee,” and “contatcing” are examples. Some phrases are also awkward or imprecise, such as “make gather” and “dinner dish.” These choices can slow the reader, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Build accuracy with common collocations for social events and organising plans, and proofread spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “get together” and “book a meal” would help express your ideas clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, for example, “Additionally, this is best time to introduce with all because we all have stories about to talk.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include “it's been so long time since we last saw you,” “we play some games,” and “if have any question.” The sentence beginning “Some are working…” also lacks a clear grammatical link between its clauses. Practise forming complete clauses and checking tense and article use; for instance, “It has been a long time since we last saw each other” is a clearer model. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the letter.
